Thief D/D condi?
no, it is not good neither in pvp nor in www.
Was wandering, did any1 tested this in WvW?I tested in in sPvP and its really good. But im WvW player so only interest have in that.
While I am currently focusing on p/p in a trappers build as a condition set (with those same types of voices claiming it does not work) and am finding it very effective, I have switched over to D/D condition as a test as well.
It works. I have not perfected it and will tinker more but you can load on lots of posion and Bleeds in a very short time. I suggest you trait the venom Spider venom. With DB and using in conjunction with steal/dagger training you will have high weakness uptime on the enemy and easily stack up 10+ poison stacks. Certain classes can obviously deal with poison better than others so it not equally effective against each.
I have had a fw 1v1 in WvW and won each with the d/d condition build but it far too low a sample size and there a lot of people testing builds at the moment so I am not sure how it plays out in the long run.
In other words try it. The hardest thing is finding a fight where you can test it without getting steamrolled by a zerg.

Ty,i tried it in sPvP and really got my attention.I was able to avoid easy enemy skills and do really good dmg by stucking poison and bleed conditions. In WvW is harder to test since i need proper gear for there.

Man I was struggling with the old Condi/Krait Rune build.
It was awful. It just stank in PVP and it used to be so kick butt.
I eventually came up with something that functions as a Condi Thief but I had to experiment a bit and deviate from the old meta. It is still efficient and I kind of enjopy it a bit more than the old build.
I tried d/d build in wvw and I realized that it’s not good.
With the new patch opponent’s damage is too high, you can’t resist a lot on the same position spamming death blossom; then there are so many classes that deal their damage in ranged mode, how could you think to catch ‘em? Ranger, condi thief p/d, mesmers, engi, rifle warriors. You always have to stay on the same position, but now you can’t.
So I think is good in pve only.

Well, enjoying the build and even rect somebody on hotjoin is not the same as “really good”. It can be good against some low mobility builds with poor access to condi cleanse I guess… At least I have never had any problems fighting against d/d condi thieves.
It can apply a whole lot of bleeds in a hurry and with Spider venoms bleed stacking is adequate. The problem is there an imbalance in the power of conditions (Fire versus bleed as example) and the fact there little in the way of defnsne in such a build. Using CnD in the traditional P/D build not only stealths for defense and cleanses but allows the sneak attack off the AA which costs 0 ini. Using CnD for the same in d/d eats ini and takes away from your deathblossoms.
Added to this there so much AOE that spammable by classes like the engineer , stealthing off a CnD at close range can kill you.
I currently use p/p condition build backed up with d/d and it works much better. It has more in the way of defense with the range, ample interrupts and blinding powder and can apply a lot of conditions including vulnerability. The problem here of course is stealth which tends to lock the build into trapper runes/traps so as to get that stealth.

The fact is that condi builds are no longer viable for thief. They nerfed the amount of damage bleeds and poison do, which is all thieves have available. If they were brought up to the same DPS as burning, then we’d be back in business. But as is, not worth it. You will do mediocre damage and get killed quickly.
Now BEFORE the change, my condi build switching between d/d and p/p was AWESOME. Stacking bleeds, poison and blinds was very effective and super fun. I loved fighting burst thieves, they would get so frustrated thinking a p/p condi thief would be an easy kill. Ah but those days are over. No more Ricochet, and weak sauce condi damage killed any kind of condi build for thieves.
