Atleast that is what I am pretty sure it is called. I had asked many people in game that had the set, and I never got a straight answer from no one. I am not sure if they did not want to give me a straight answer or not.

Most say you get it by doing 80 map things. Not completion, just loot, and doing the events. They also said it is not a Karma dealer that gives it. I didn’t believe them of course, so I googled level 80 Exotic Karma dealers, and I seen no pictures of the duelist set on the Karma dealers inventory.

What I found on the dealers was the whispering set. Not a bad set but it is the typical long jacket look. Problem is the Long jacket look goes from 20+ level all the way to 80 level. That look is worn out and stail especialy when it is the only look you can get on a thief for all them levels.

So what exactly has to be done and where do I go to get the Duelist set for theThief?

The easiest way to get the set is at Trading Post.You can get it for like 40-60 silver each.

So it is a map completion award of the 70-80 zones? Or a Full Tyria map completion? Do I have to be on my thief for it to drop?

I also heard you can craft it, but I forgot to mention it in my first post. And no thank you I much rather not have to go to the Mystic Toilet, and depend on a RNG system to get it.

Just buy it off the TP. Zone completion rewards are merely random rewards from a large pool and have nothing to do with the profession you’re playing at the time. Full Tyria map completion gets you a component for legendary weapons, but no equipment itself.

It’s a world drop like others said. Not sold by any NPC or crafted.
Even if you complete a map the loot is pulled from a world drop list so you “still” may not get any Duelist pieces. I myself gained two of them this way.

Aside from randomly getting them from high level map completions they can drop from high level mobs but any exotic drop can be quite rare. I have yet to obtain a single exotic drop myself. Also there is the Mystic Forge however you would need to know what level gear to throw in (which must be rares for a chance at an exotic or exotics themselves) so that you don’t overshoot the level range the Duelist set falls in.

Best advice? Do the maps and whatever exotics you get that isn’t Duelist sell them on the TP & use that silver & gold to buy the pieces you want.

thanks for all the help. atleast now I got some sort of direction to go. If I get it and it is not level 80 I will just use the set to farm with and do my Tyria map completion. I Just got a few pieces of the whispering set last night, so that will be my 70-80 map completion and 70 – 80 event set. I just wish all the sets did not have that long coat look the duelist set is the only set that takes that same look away.
