Hello all, throughout the past 2 months I have made a series of guides on weapon sets for thief that were uploaded on my YouTube channel (Badly Mannered). Seeing as how new players are always asking for advice from those experienced here in the forums, it was suggested to me that I post a thread with links to all of my guides as players seeking advice may not always find said videos on YouTube or even look there. If anyone finds these helpful or if anyone has additional ideas/concepts, feel free to comment on the videos as I do not check these forums often, if ever. Also, understand the builds/tactics used are from my point of view. They are not the only way to play or use these sets as things change with style.

I’ve watched your videos and I enjoy them all. I know you don’t like staff but the weapon set is very strong. I use to feel the same way until I decided to put some effort into using it. Dust Strike has surprisingly decent range when chasing and Debilitating arc can be used as a somewhat spamable evade to counter other stealth classes/trapper runes.

Yeah, Staff is a good weapon. I’ve played around with it a fair amount in sPvP and WvW. I just don’t have the “feel” for it. It’s not the 555555 weapon everyone says it is as the other skills are very useful. It’s just not my thing and I feel I wouldn’t do the weapon justice in my attempts to explain it. I’ll leave that to someone else who really has an understanding of the play style for it. I’m glad you enjoyed the videos! Thanx for watching!

Nice videos! It’s always good to have some recent tutorials for new players. It helps a community to gather around a class.

Note : You should tell that you are a WvW player. The pace and your job is totally different in pvp.That’s a great deal in weapon set choice. You won’t be effective as a +1 person with a p/d build for example.

Thanx! Yes, I figured I’d make some guides for 2016 as the game has changed considerably and I found that there weren’t many guides in general, let alone up to date ones. I suppose I could mention I am a WvW player. I understand things are different in sPvP and roles change. The videos themselves were really just an explanation of how to use the sets and different things you could do. WvW was just used as a way to show the things in action, but yes I can understand that notion when it comes to sPvP. Typically, in my comments section when I get questions about sPvP, I usually suggest D/P with some kind of x/Trickery/Dardevil setup with Marauder. I think D/P is a really good set for Thieves of all levels looking to get into sPvP. It’s just a really good all-round set and can benefit solo/team situations greatly.
