I keep hearing that we will be getting nerfed on the next incoming patch, but I haven’t been able to find any official patch notes on it. Can anyone clarify?
basically there was a comment in a webchat with the devs that they will make stealth give revealed regardless of how it ends and potential mug damage reduction.
Until the actual patch we don’t know any specifics.

does mean if you decide theres a situation where you could do with stealthing you get effected, and the buffs where theoretical and not at all confirmed.
The staying power sounded like something in the future they are working on… same with making thieves more slippery.
I am hopeful but not expectant about this patch tweaking thief and not just being nerfs.

I would agree with this… do things in steps vs all at once. The team seem to disagree though… large buffs/nerfs are far too common

This. Right now I am almost ashamed to stealth. Don’t ever know if I killed them because I played better, or they just never saw me come out of stealth.
the nerf will only hinder those that where trying to use it for other things, those that use it in pvp will still faceroll the majority of the people who struggle with how it is now simply because they still won’t learn how to counter it.
Unfortunately that just means they’ll continue to whine and no doubt Anet will kowtow and nerf us some more on a continual cycle until its carebear central.

What ? It’s already carebear central. There was maybe 1 month or less after the heartseeker nerf back in the day , people chilled and no one was saying THIEF is still OP. After that and up untill now everyone cries and wants hard nerfs. I already stopped playing WvW/PvE. Just stomping it in spvp it actually bugs me that I was right about the whole mega nerfing aspect on that side. After investing way too much in my PvX thief.

The one that actually doesnt play it.
And for the poster before, yes good thiefs will be affected by stealth nerf. Chaining CnD was a common tactic between x/d thiefs to relocate from one side of zerg to other, now that will be impossible.

For example, if target is low on hp, you are in stealth, you should chain c&d to down him. This would allow you to immeditately continue with stealth stomp.

No mug is a staple, more so than Stealth for crutch play at any conscious level. Stealth abuse was some low-tier crap toxic for the game.
Pretty much most 90% of players who play burst will be affected by the mug nerf. They’ll just have to compensate as a result, however it’s much more encompassing to certain sections of the game than the stealth change.
The Mug nerf is a big deal but needed to happen. As long as that trait was there applying a ton of instant damage, other parts of the kit had to have its damage held down to keep burst in check. In the long run it will be a good thing that Mug was nerfed.
The revealed debuff change is necessary for stopping some low tier abusive nonsense. It will hurt a few plays on the margins but won’t be a big deal. Mostly it just means I won’t be able to run through zergs without caring any more.
The changes will not hurt me, but the idea that the hysterical nerf demands will subside is very likely wrong. It would be great if the miraculous happened, and suddenly it all stopped, but I feel this trend is going to continue. Not just the strident nerf demands, but thier implementation as well.
The filunny thing is this wont affect much considering i go into stealth for damage. I mean i cant get good damage by spamming dancing dagger or body shot. Now heartseeker is still possible but honestly i have never gotten a kill with heartseeker because i simply ise it to catch up. Lets see what do i need to do to get BS stealth what do i do to get revealed use backstab. Which is what is gonna happen now. The only thing i gotta say is use your stealth skill if you go stealth otherwise its pointless

People still complain when I bull rush frenzy hundred blades them in spvp with my level two warrior.
Hasn’t that ship sailed a long time ago? Like, since beta, where people discovered there was something called a stun breaker? Yeah…people aren’t gonna stop complaining about thieves.
I’ve had a mesmer complain that traps were a cowardly way to fight with ranger
I’ve had multiple people complain my guardian was too survivable.
I’ve had people complain about my bunker thief being even more unkillable.
I’ve had people complain that my elementalist ran too much, this being AFTER the rtl nerf.
So…yeah, just ignore them. People will always find things to gripe about

With how many people thieves scared away from wvw, I honestly wonder. Besides other than UP classes and abilities needing to be fixed the only classes I see people complaining about on a regular is thief and elementalist.
My only gripe was honestly culling since I had to rely on auto attacks and aoe’s to deal any major damage on a foe actively attacking me and all my powerful target skills just sat there unused for the most part.
