Thief POV WvW Raids AKA Blast Bot
tip: learn to withdraw forward
in pov1 most of your sb dmg came after you team manage to take down most of the enemy group so try to come from the sides and not from the back if you wanna contribute better
good videos though

I belive i use my withdraw the right way, i save it always for a panic moment or when i need to reposition myself.
About the Sb damage, you are totally right. We have a stronk melee train, so i mostly work as blast bot/assassin. Sometimes it’s really difficult to actually flank, although i’m trying to improve in every raid.
Thanks for the feedback tho ;P
Thanks for posting the videos. Even if you’re not that good, it gave me some motivation to continue playing my thief. Still scrathing my head how to gear it properly for Wv3.
Even if you’re not that good
Q_Q On our matchup I really need to focus on surviving, Gandara and AM/PS are so blobby most of our fights i really need to pay atention to survival.
It’s not that im not good, is just the scenario is not the best :P
But glad it gave you some motivation :P
Not bad play overall. Used to do something like this before i had ele forced upon me during raid time. Any interest in sharing a little more about build so that i may convince my guild to let me run thief? lol

Sure!
I run Standard SA build with some tweaks
After The 15/4 i had to change some Sigils of power for Sigils of accuracy, change stones for oils and invest into thrill of the crime to keep my dps up, i gave up on my burst and went for an overall better dps which imo is better for raiding, changed travelers for wurms to make up for the crt dmg lose while gaining some durability. 30 SA is a great asset for fights, especially when you get low you can step away and heal up then go into the fray again! Plus 300 Toughness is awesome tbh.
Ironically enough Last refuge saved me a lot of times while raiding :P

How do you withdraw forward?
^ Best way is to map the quick-turn key to something. Mine is “U”, since it’s easy to press with my heal. Then just whip around with the mouse.

tbh, press turn key is clunky and its not really all tha smooth.
I just have a lot of sensitivity on the mouse and do some fast roations to position myself before using withdraw.
^ I do the mouse-swap on occasion, especially in situations where I need to act fast, but the quick turn always does a 180; it’s very useful to have available, esp for overland travel. Nice thing about it is that you can autorun, turn, withdraw, without changing your angle by accident.
Just be sure you’re not holding down mouse-move when you do it, otherwise the key does not work.

there is a key which turn you around 180 so i bind it and use it with heal skill than i turn the camera again 180

Thanks!
i was hoping to kinda get out of the usual builds and make something a bit more unorthodox. Might this be something that you have looked into?
any feedback would be cool! and be gentle i’m just getting back to thief and don’t claim to know much.

I’d get rid of the remaining bits of Valkyre, Ferocity is not a good stat, unless you go deep in power and precision for a really good crit chance.
Updated with 3rd POV!
Tree, i’ll answer tomorrow when i have more time :P
