Thief S/D PVE?
Unwanted.. If you Want sword in dungeons you need pistol offhand.
Dagger mainhand for more damage vs single targets.
Theorycrafter & trickster.
Friend, father & lover!
Advantages of S/P is the blind (which is very handy on mean trash pulls), PW which is a great defensive tool and headshot which gives ability to quickly strip defiance. All 3 of which can be very useful. S/D gives flanking strike, which for most PvE content loses to PW, dancing dagger which isn’t very useful and CnD which doesn’t have a good synergy with MH sword in dungeons.
People who are serious about their dungeon speed aren’t going to want to see S/D because it doesn’t have MAX DEEPS. It’s perfectly reasonable in any other circumstance, it’s not MAX DEEPS but still kills plenty quickly if you enjoy the playstyle.
The biggest problem with s/d in pve isn’t the loss of personal and group utility compared to s/p, but the fact that fs puts you out of position, which can often ruin the positioning of a boss or pack and lead to wiping your group.
I usually don’t bother swapping out of my S/D WvW setup for dungeons and still do decent damage. I don’t think most groups care, unless you’re spamming shortbow AA.
S/D is really good in certain Fractal…but that’s about it.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
Maybe if they didn’t beat Sword 3 to death with nerf bat~ but as of now it’s not as useful PvE.
