Mesmer: Awesome
Necro: Awesome
Engineer: gives chaos armour good. causes reveal, to small aoe range.
Elemental: Useless.
Thief: Any stealth, against a thief, great lets all fight in stealth.
Guardian: OP, just time it right, can solo a guardian, in a non 1v1, pretty poor.
Ranger: Awesome, cluster bomb it for aoe healing for your team, aoe regen, healing on moves.
Warrior: Awesome, but doesnt give stability so to easy to stop you.

If it was throwable range it would be nice, but now with melee chill it kinda feels “meh”.
Warrior: Really powerful AoE attack that also reflects projectiles. Awesome.
Thief: Free stealth with AoE blind. kittening awesome!
Mesmer: All the boons in the game for 10 seconds? Yes please!
Engineer: Etheral combo field = aoe Chaos Armor with cluster bomb. Okay, but not the strongest. In a condition build this is really strong! Otherwise you can time it with infiltrator’s strike for nice damage.
Guardian: A long daze for free. Pop this the second his stability drops for awesomeness.
Elementalist: Chilling your foe to have their skills and movement reduced by 66%. The damage is also pretty good. High reward if you land it.
Necromancer: AoE fear? Redicolously strong!
Ranger: This is probably the strongest one of them all. It pulses for five seconds, remove conditions with each pulse and give regeneration – AoE! On top of that it’s a water combo field, so just spam cluster bomb for AoE healing. Awesome!
I don’t think Ice Shard Stab should get any fixes. Having it ranged would make it way too powerful. It’s strong and therefore it should have some good counter play.

I don’t really think they need to buff the current items, as they’re all useful in some way, but what we do need is variety.
I’d love the idea that we get different items depending on the weaponset the oppo is using. This would actually make us a little bit more unpredictable.
Either way… just one guaranteed item per class is just meh imo.

Early, in BWE#2 it was like you saying and thief was stealing items based on rng and class, and after bwe it was removed because off complaints that is too much rng in it. So you should know that now))

Oh well, I played a Ranger in BWE#2, didn’t know about that. I’m not really asking for a RNG based steal, I just want more stealing options based on the oppo’s equipped weapons. They should stay guaranteed preferably, I just want more items and that it actually makes sense. For example if you steal from a warrior equipped with a hammer u’ll get something like a 2 sec knockdown item, whereas when he’s equipped with an axe, you’ll get the whirling axe.
Of course they’d have to introduce a whole lot of new items, but this would make the thief less easy going, knowing when and what to steal. Unfortunately I don’t see that happen, but they should really consider a change in the stealing system, it feels really clunky.
Yeah I know it’s not needed each offers utility some okay utility but I feel it’s also limited to how you can use it.
I mean this is supposed to be our profession skill but let’s be honest most of us just use skill for a gap closer/combo. I’ll use it to get away on a mob creature but I almost never use to for a steal unless there is a 2 v 1 and I’m against ranged dps, then I’m looking for a warrior. Or a zerg fight I’m looking for a necro.
I dunno I’ve used all the builds, and personally I’m a s/d now because of the options and utility it offers. I just wish steal offered more than it did. It’s not that id doesn’t offer enough, I just don’t enjoy the steals as much. A lot of the time I end up NOT using it during the fight, don’t need too.
I use steal for the gap closer and other effects too, but not so much for the stolen skill.
It’s a nice bonus but I don’t think in any way class-defining.
