Thief Suggestions/Requests Thread
Good idea on the thread.
I would like for stealth to be made so that as soon as a thief goes stealth auto-attack stops until you reactivate it. It’s a great challenge to set up a backstab on moving, dodging, players and mobs, but it is not fun when you stealth and auto attack automatically pops you out of stealth before you have a chance to get set up.

Personally I’d like to see some more amulet stat combinations, and some more sigils. For Mist PvP.

Thanks I’ll check this out, but does it work if I’m keeping the same target? Does stealth act as a target reassignment? That’s the issue I’m having in 1v1 situations of when I’m already fighting a mob or player and hop into stealth. It doesn’t happen all the time but of course it happens at the worst time haha.

Thus far, some simple/cool things I’d like would be:
- Hand-to-Hand weapons, Crossbows or more off-hand weapon options, which could probably give Twisting Fangs and Repeater a little more purpose with some twieking.
- ASSASSIN armor; majority of Medium armor follows the style of GW1 Rangers, which is nice and all but it needs some diversity. Not all Medium wearers are Rangers.
- I’d love Disable Skill Queuing as well, as Kaiser mentioned.
- To be able to use more than just Basilisk Venom underwater… That skill is useless if you’re not a venom build.
- Blind to effect channeling melee skills….
- Can I have Signet of Deadly Corruption from GW1? nvm, that’d be OP.
One thing I’m personally disappointed in are the elite skills… ALL the elite skills. Thieves’ Guild is sweet, but spin-to-win and Basilisk are extremely boring; the latter of which is ineffective in many situations.
When I think “thief elite skill,” I think of some crazy maneuver from ninja legend, like controlling/becoming a shadow or dashing around everywhere going crazy for a few seconds. Instead we get… spinning, a 1s stun, and a pet skill? Meh. :/
i just want skills to work properly. that is all i ask
-i want Flanking Strike “pathing” to work every time and not 1 out of 10.
-and teleporting skills to also work every time, instead of burning my initiative and cooldown and leaving me where i’m standing.
other, not needed, but not OP either, improvements:
-slight increase on blinding powder and shadow refuge stealth duration
-our skills to be instant., especially stealths and heals.
-a useful alternative to the thieve’s guild ulti.
edit: i want a RAPIER skin for my sword :p

Personally I’d rather see Blinding Powder just have a slight cool-down reduction, somewhere between 40-50 recast. It can have 4 seconds of instant invisibility (traited) with a blind attached to it which I think is pretty good, just a long recast on it.
And yes please to the rapier skin, I’ve been wishing they would have one.
I’d like to see a strong re-design of the Thief UI – I’d like to see more strongly differentiated, and easier to see, icons for “steal” and “stolen” skills – I’d also like a far stronger color differentiation for our quantity of initiative, and whether any of our skills can be used based on initiative cost
in short, right now, most of our skills are grey with spots of red – if a skill is ineligible for use, it’s the same grey icon with the red bits now purplish, with some random white text letter written in the corner – in short, out of the corner of my eye (since most of the time I’m “watching the road” so to speak) I can’t tell the difference
most of the time I also have no idea how much initiative I have – I can kinda track my initiative thru my initial rotation because I can do the math in my head, but after that…nuthin’
obviously, I’d like to see a much larger range of weapons and weapon skills…
twin swords – not entirely unreasonable
falchion and scimitars – one large 2 handed curved sword (so we get a fast, short range 2-hander and skills for that sort of thing – some multi-target light bleeds, maybe a whirly skill) and scimitars (some curved swords, bigger than daggers, maybe not as big as longswords, again, fast, light damage dealers with some bleeds or reflects or some such)
spear (1-handed and 2-handed)
maybe an off-hand “thieve’s tools” or some such – a bag of special effects – fire, smoke, blinds, poison – stuff like that
Only one thing I’d like:
If stealth lasts longer than 1 second, give it a timer so I can see when it runs out… Thanks

everyone has skills that have cast times, including ther heals, its intended and a part of the game.
removing it would just be dumbing down the game and taking away from the skill involved.
unless your talking about something other then cast times
After playing using Shadowstep on my bar pretty much all the time now, I would like to see it give you 15 seconds to shadow return like you have on Infiltrator’s Strike (sword #2 skill).
I would like the thief to be able to stealth permanent until hit/use of a weapon. Then once used it recharges. The thieves use the element of surprise….its not really surprising when you stealth for 5 secs, run away…..then quickly re appear 3 ft from your enemy.
Also the Elite skills dont last long enough to justify 30 skill points to get. would be nice to use the hell hounds till they die vs 10 secs?
