Thief base hp is too low?
If you are going with low vitality builds, you’ll need to be sticking to high power, precision and crit damage to make up for the lack of hit points with heavy burst. I’m currently using a condition/vitality build with pistol/dagger setup and loving it. Good self healing along with sustained dps makes for a fun way to play. I have exotic weapons and jewelry, and only rare armor, and still have 19,205 hp. You can get the hp, just gotta find what you are willing to trade off for it.
the biggest problem is the 100% lack of PVP/PVE gear with Power+Prec+Vitality
Power+Prec+Vitality would be a much more fluid choice especially if you use Divinity Runes

This would indicate ANET would find this thread laughable.

We’ll see when the meta develops, I’m pretty sure other proffs will have a spot over the thief because of game mode style. If it was a deathmatch for example, thief would be a good choice imo.
Why must clowns flood thief forum like they know everything when it is clearly apparent they do not, and are only here to qq because they died to a thief with their glass cannon builds.
The lack of thief’s defense is quite evident…especially in PvE and in PvP against GOOD players.

The difference between the highest health pool and the lowest is ~59%. Those classes also benefit more per point of vitality if I’m correct and therefor the stat simply scales better for them as they stack more of it they get a larger and larger health pool compared to the lowest tier classes. Also there is a bigger gap between the low to middle tier than from the middle tier to the high tier.
It does scream a little bit of poor game design, but that’s just my feeling, Its not like Precision is any better for a thief than a warrior, but Vit is massively better for a warrior than a thief.
I don’t understand why mesmer and ranger deserve higher health pool than thief.
Ranger has dodge almost nonstop and mesmer has almost the same escape abilities as thief.
Thief has to go into the team fight to do dmg which means he is easily focused, ranger can stay back, mesmer can stay back + has clones, making him harder to focus.
Mesmers are probably gonna call me out on this one, but I think mesmers and thiefs should have their hp pools switched…

Isabis the problem is that thief’s range abilities are a little bit sub par compared to others, spamming CB is good close range and pistol is ok if used with a dagger offhand for the stealth attack bleed stack but that’s pretty much it…. they are short range and don’t do anywhere near as much damage or provide the same team utility as other classes ranged weapons (although CB as a blast finisher is nice)

I believe this is really a massive problem. I’m all for difference between classes but you can’t have such a massive difference between something as essential as HP. WoW used to have such differences too…less pronounced if I made add….and got rid of them too. They make it impossible to balance around.
Imo there shouldn’t be more than 5000 HP base-difference between classes.
13.000 HP
16.000 HP
18.000 HP would make things much better to balance.
Long term however I think it would be better for everyone to have the same base HP.
