If Backstab only hit for 11k, that’s not high enough to send you to Grenth’s. The extra damage insures that you make it there.
Seriously though, why are you looking at “BASE HP” and not “EHP”?

i wanna see that 8k or 9k+ dmg in spvp! my highest crit % in PvE/WvW is 122% (with food) but in spvp 57% so thats why its possible to do that very high burst dmg in WvW have u seen eviscerate for 15- 16k? and 20k Dmg of warrior’s kill shot!?
Warrior’s ranged ‘backstap’ you mine as well call it is scary.
Minding my own business fighting a guard when suddenly the majority of my HP just instantly vanishes from a warrior on top of tower. o.O If I wasn’t in soldiers it woulda been a 1shot I’m sure.
Then of course there’s this spvp stuff. I’ve been hit with the evil 20k killshot before too. Not to mention wars speced for regen are almost impossible to kill.

No thief would be impressed by that gimmicky build and while it is funny it’s combination of specific elements make it far from practical. The build is a novelty and not one that does any favors for a legitimate discussion about backstab or thieves in general.

i am too got hit by 8-9k spike backstab thieves but that’s life
and also i am doing 15k burst dmg with torment+confusion+pistol whip if i catch BS thief
so its not OP as you can see low hp low armor so its high reward/higher risk build

Anyway, here’s how you counter me: dodge, once. If the initial burst fails, I’ve just burned all 5 of my cooldowns and half my initiative for nothing. I have 12k health, no stunbreaks and my only source of stealth is C&D. Unless really caught off guard, there is no excuse for losing against a build like this.
Surviving and getting kills with a build that glassy is a form of art. I encourage anyone in doubt to see for theirselves; the build is in the descriptions and while the numbers are slightly lower, the burst is still more than enough in sPvP.
