I’m wondering if any other thieves have done this: I jumped into fight 3 players in pvp + a couple of pets and somehow stole a skill off a mesmer to create 2 clones of myself. No one knew which was the original and the clones had high health. Was this a bug and if not, any idea how I did it/ how to replicate it?

Most probable cause is that you reflected a projectile from him that creates clones on hit, surely a mirror blade.

It was Thieves Guild I think, back when I played the game stealing from a Mesmer gives you consume Ectoplasm, that gives all boons.

Yeah, it happens from time to time. It’s the same principle as our old shadowshot ‘reverse pull’ with D/P #3. We shoot, mesmer reflects, and instead of us shadowstepping to him, it’s him who shadowstepped to us. This was the reason it was made ‘unblockable’.

But now that I look at it, mirror blade also has been made unblockable, (for the same reason I presume) so maybe the cause is a bug or another thing.

Definitely wasn’t Thieves Guild – I had dagger storm in the elite slot and the clones had my character name and appearance.
Yep, I just saw the wiki says mirror blade cannot be reflected. Perhaps it was a reflect able mesmer skill that did this – If I stepped in a reflect missiles bubble temporarily. It happened too quickly for me to remember. If an enemy casts the reflect missile bubble, will it block their own attacks if I am inside instead of them?

Was on helping a mesmer guildy with his condition build the other day and this happened. I was on my guardian and he was using his septer. (which has projectile clone summon on autoattack) Put down a wall of reflection and 2 clones of me appeared. After playing around a bit we managed to get 6, yes 6 we counted them, clones of me attacking him. Laughed myself to tears.

I can confirm this, mesmer scepter auto attacks create two clones.

Ah, didn’t know that. I’m only lvl 30 mesmer right now, haven’t had it before. I assume it’s a bug?
But on topic it means he prolly reflected a bugged 3rd auto attack then I guess

I’ve had this happen, and the first time I was THOROUGHLY confused.
