Thief current meta
Critical Damage was changed to Ferocity and all those nice +crit damage bonusses that you got from ruby orbs and and jewels got a relatively large hit. You may want to look for other upgrades.
Runes and Sigils seen some buffs, Sigils no longer share a single cooldown, but one for each specific type, meaning you could now run A sigil of Air and a Sigil of Fire if you wanted to. Runes were reworked to make the 6th bonus more attractive; you’ll want full sets now.
Weaponset choices haven’t really changed, but D/P has seen a hit a while back, with changes to initiative regeneration.
Your character is down-leveled, which makes it harder to interpret the stats.
D/P is still a valid choice after the feature patch, however due to the ferocity changes, it’s not as effective as it used to be. A lot of people switched to P/D due to condis being very strong in small scale in general, and the ease of play. The basic stealth builds, with 6 in SA. D/D is pretty much dead now, but you can still see them every now and then. They still have great burst, but it’s a bit unreliable. I’d only use it if it was with D/P.
Some, myself included, have adapted the Trickery style of play from s/tPvP, combining S/D, S/P and D/P with the traits from trickery line. It is a very effective build in the right hands, albeit very fragile behind the evade frames/blinds. The traits usually go 2/6/0/0/6 for SD, SP, DP or 2/0/0/6/6 for SD if you like it.
The changes to runes and sigils are also a thing to consider. While Lyssa’s received a nerf to their #6, it still serves as a good condi cleanse. The new Strength runes are probably the best pick (or Pack, if you can’t afford Strength’s), but they are of very high cost.
Berserker’s re still the best pick for damge. Valkyrie’s are still viable, even though ferocity shot some builds, i.e. Hidden Killer, in the leg.
As for sigils, they now have their own, independent, cooldowns. Combinations like Fire/Air or Battle/Energy work very well now. Work out the best set of sigils to utilize with the style you play.

I feel like thief has no “meta” anymore. Before it was all D/P and some P/D, now there’s more P/D, still some D/P, more sword users, and still some burst D/Ds with strength runes.

D/P with strength runes, power of inertia, at least 25 in SA, and strength/air sigils is still very powerful for roaming. With these i can basically sit at 10-15+ stacks of might.

I still think D/D is viable in WvW. I think D/D has been one of the harder to use weapon sets, but it has a higher reward. I refuse to go condi lol. You can still find some D/D thieves out there.
