Thief gets nothing new with Elite
Unhindered Combat is fantastic and I believe should have been given when a player chose DareDevil along with the dodge. Then a new GM trait that has an effect after dodge like the other two such as blind.
Bandits Defense while it isn’t class defining is a great utility.

15s stunbreaker, block and animation lock for the loss! The range threshold at which your character attempts to kick is farther than the kick goes. Go test this on NPC’s and prepare to face palm. I don’t know how the devs managed to kitten this up so bad. I still run it for the low CD stunbreak, but it gets me killed at about a 1/5 rate.
bound is also awesome combing it with black powder = less iniative use gives us good stealth with a dodge. having fun using that with pistols or backstabs
- Bound gives P/P and S/P much needed on demand stealth.
- Lotus synergizes well with condi D/D.
- Dash is amazing for mobility.
- DD has good bruiser traits useful for S/D and staff.
- Impacting disruption allows for interesting hybrid interrupt builds.
- We get enough flat endurance refill to make up for the vigor nerf.
- Daredevil runes + bound make soldier or valk much more viable.
Overall, we have much better build diversity, and some really interesting combos. Other classes are overtuned, but DD provides much more than just feline grace v2.0. I think the main thing that’s lacking on our end is base thief specs.

Never got killed by the skill yet. I just love the low CD stunbreak

I do agree to an extent OP. People talking about utility skills are kind of missing the point. Near enough all the other classes have grabbed themselves some seriously OP stuff… We get three dodges, a decent new weapon and a few decent utility skills.
DH got ohhh peee traps, Reapers got 10k autoattacks, Chronomancers got demi-god style invincibility, Warriors got an Elite that gives them tonnes of great new damage build options… I could go on.
We get to dodge a bit more >.<
I’m surprised no one brings up Fist Flurry. The skill does massive damage. I’m getting a full animation in 1.75 seconds, which does a tootip damage of 995 + 465 + 872 (/ crit mod for proper scaling). This comes to, assuming a crit mod of 2.4 (which is about as high as I can get it), 1,042 tooltip DPS. This makes Fist Flurry our highest damaging skill.
I’ve been using it to beat the tar out of things in HoT maps, and it works wonders. The 2 second stun helps, too.
Imparing daggers isn’t that bad, either. 597 direct damage over about 0.75 seconds puts it at a respectable DPS. It is quite good at disabling, as anything without a breakbar is crippled and anything with is soon broken. Once it is bugfixed I’ll look forward to its ability to projectile finish, too.
Yea, thieves got the short end of the stick…literally, we got +1 stam and left overs from the Rev. All other classes got new things, instead we got acro 2.0 which I might add that acro line is the most redundant and useless line of all classes now, worst trait line ever? I think they just had to rush theif elite for release due to time restraints and it shows.
As a side note, how are you people using these 2-3 second cast things against mobs that are totally immune to CC + buffed by zergs? Moment I try for a FF against those, I will die 100% of the time; going close to those types of mobs is suicide unless you are playing a heavy armored prof and even then…

the only thing that i dislike the most is that we don’t get proper grandmaster traits. since it is said that the new class mechanic are the new dodges… but where are our grandmasters then? this is actually the thing that bugged me the most. also i wouldn’t mind getting slighty different items through steal from the classes.
but the DD traitline is okay. what we have to address is acrobatics wich is useless for a long time now. critical strikes could use a little bit more love aswell. but at least CS is decent for PvE
Fwiw, I main a warrior, typically run zerk gear, and usually don’t have much trouble beating thieves (I have to pay attention, but I’ll win most of the time).
The daredevil elite completely flips that on its head.
I’d personally like to see the core thief get some buffs in a few areas but, yeah, the thief elite looks like it absolutely brings something good to the thief class. I’ve spoken to a few of the people running it after they’ve beaten me, and they’ve pretty much said the same thing.

why do people always insist a thief needs stealth? been running S/D (yes diff then u say) for ages till nerf then went P/P for luls of it now it got buffed a lil even and i never had the feeling that i need stealth..
so to be honest its just the way people wanna play but in my eyes thief doesnt have to relay on stealth at all nor its much needed.
