Thief has ruined other classes for me
good luck making an engi move from capture point in spvp
I guess I’m a thief main now.
Definitely not complaining- I always have a blast playing my thief. I always, always feel in total control of the battlefield and the thrill of teleporting everywhere is fantastic.
In both PvE and PvP I feel useful and I have a blast. Soloing a champion? Sure! Decap far and then teleport to home to save my teammate from a 2v1? You bet. Evade a zerg in WvW? Why the hell not. Stealth a team through a group of mobs? Oh yeah.Elementalist used to be my main especially for PvP- I now find myself contributing a whole lot more and being able to support my team extremely well. I rarely die in sPvP matches anymore.
The only reason I play my mesmer is to port my wife through jump puzzles, the only reason I play my Engi is when I really just want easy perma-swiftness or I’m playing for low level friends so I don’t waste map completion, and the only reason I play my Elementalist is.
No cooldowns combined with extreme mobility, control, high damage, and extremely active play has made other classes not nearly as exciting.
At your service.
I understand you to an extent! I mostly play thief now and can’t even imagine coming back to boooooring warrior.
However I still enjoy playing Mesmer and Guardian(guardian for big zergs), and I feel like I maybe should try playing engineer.

Welcome to the motley crew my friend. We’re glad to have you!
I definitely see where you’re coming from. There really is just something special about the Thief play style that just clicks with me. It makes playing other classes really hard at times… ESPECIALLY when it comes to weapon skill cooldowns. I can’t tell you how many times I start playing another class after a long session as a thief and forget that I don’t have initiative anymore. And the mobility is wonderful too!
Not to say that the other classes aren’t great too, but the thief class will always have a special place in my heart.
