Thief now best condi class for PvE?
Reaper is best Condi dps, it doesn’t need anything besides itself and does over 33k damage.

Well to be honest i have to disagree with you, i dont know what changed with reapers new elite but even pre patch condi engi had more then 33k dps on his own and if reaper still has only 33k he will be at least beat by engi who also brings condi dmg buff to all partymembers.
Also the good thing with condi thief IS that other ppl can scale his dmg with poison and combofields, i dought that u run raids solo as a reaper.
Ofc Reaper has it advanteges with the trash clear of epidemic but in terms of condi dps i wonder if he can hold a candle to the dmg of daredevil post patch.

I knew this would come :-D First of all the bug was fixed… second of all try that without permanent resistance and i havent seen a raidgroup yet that can keep resistance up but nice try xD

I knew it was a bug it’s still funny that stuff like that make its past “QA”. I just didn’t check to see if it was ever fixed since it’s PvE and I don’t play Reaper….

At least thief has still topspot against small hitboxes. But i guess for the large ones ele will always have the topspot..
Thieves rely on everyone else to carry them…as always. Even in the case on condis, they rely on there being 4 other allies to share their venoms with for DPS.

And there’s no pve content worth our saliva where you don’t have 4 allies around you. Condi thief is by far the best condi build in the game.

Venoms scale with your own condi damage, you don’t need other condis. And the build doesn’t even use combo fields, only finishers that are potential dps increases.
It should be known Condi thief is only highest Condi Dps when it comes to stationary targets, moving targets they drop down considerably in damage and if no one is around to receive the venoms the dps drops sharply.

Obviously damage drops if you can’t share your Venoms because that’s a function of the skill, but you aren’t expected to be in a position where you’re on an island. We don’t knock classes for their Might and Fury uptimes because in a competitive raiding environment that has been taken care of, just like whether or not you can expect to have allies within Venom range. Having allies nearby would be considered a “realistic buff”.

Every condi class loses significant damage against a moving target except rev and mes, which are both much lower dps than thief. For eles, target needs to stay in fire fields, condi engi napalm is a tiny line aoe that does huge damage and fire bomb, condi ranger has bonfire, traps, and unreliable flanking against a moving target, warrior needs target to stay in fire fields, reaper needs target to stay in ice fields. Thief is not unique in this regard or even relatively heavily affected.
Also to address the venom share radius, it is really easy to ensure that you have 4 people within the radius in a raid scenario. Even if people in your subgroup are out of range, the venoms will just go to people on the other sub group. If all of them are out of range, the venoms will go to pets and phantasms, and if all of those are out of range you must be doing something seriously wrong.

And one more time those classes are on par with a Condi thief in dps but provide a lot more utility and group support, I’m not saying Thief doesn’t have high Condi dps, I’m saying people are trying to make an issue out of nothing.
Condi thieves are actually great on moving fights compared to other condi builds because they don’t rely on foes standing in its fields. All the thief needs is for one hit of death blossom to hit the target to get all bleeds on, it’s only caltrops that needs its target inside and it has a pretty big radius. As for the venom thing it’s not hard to share between ppl at all and if for some crazy silly reason the thief knew they wouldn’t be able to share its not like the build dies they can merely just switch out both venom’s for the trap and dagger utility. It’s easily one of the best if not the best builds to use in actual raid settings. Possible only 2 downsides that I can think of for thief is having a unlucky death blossom during a hard hitting/ 1 shot mech and it connected right after the evade frame ends.
