Nice video anyways. Thieves are real good in that fight due to their abundance of dodges – I’m usually the last man standing when it goes bad, but the prison he casts always gets me eventually

I love to solo his phase 1 fight. My question though is can you actually solo his next two fights? That crystal prison makes things much trickier. His little healing adds in phase 3 I would think out heal solo dps as well.

yea I could, obviously a lot harder but with sword main hand I could do p2 alpha np. Only problem is that the game won’t let me get there without a team

laser grid is a pain in butt right?

And yeah, dodge is by far the most important thing in that boss pre-nerf it was amazing how few people could handle it.

Dodging will save you from the crystal prison? I’ve tried that to no success but steal and shadow step will. Been awhile since I’ve been interested this much in a forum topic, thanks for that.

yeah the crystal prison is evadable but is probably the hardest part to dodge, fortunately we have the advantage of instant shadowsteps that allow us to escape them if we miss time it.

Good to know, I’ll have to try even harder now that you’ve confirmed it for me. Much love thief brother. Anyone attempt the third phase? From what I’ve seen his little healing ink blobs are on a timer, not regulated by his health percentage. If I’m incorrect then I’m gonna try to run the whole dungeon tonight. =)

Oh no, I’m very aware of that. I wouldn’t have trouble finding a few guild members to help with the group stuff. Plus we can kill everything else rather than running through it.

I’ve paused a few groups so i could try and solo all three phases of his fights. what i’ve found is that when solo he seems to rely on the crystal prison more, had good success running shadowstep and infiltrator signet (+ steal obviously) if you have shadow arts traits, one of em should be deception cooldowns. I love fighting alpha, and hate the lasers for not letting me solo the dungeon

He’s definitely solo-able at the end of all paths, at the end of p1 and p2 I have SA to remove conditions on stealth and hit C+D on him repeatedly to remove burns and keep IS handy against the crystal. It’s not even close to difficult. At the end of p3 you just have to move around a bit and dodge towards him through the earth spikes when the ice hits. Killing him on any path just ends up being totally monotonous and boring, but I suppose you can more clearly see how he works when soloing him, so it’s quite educational too.

When my new GPU arrives, I might record the full HP versions if I can get my group to wait for me.
