Im really sorry to hear that thiefs gets inisative regen nerfed but hang in there… I main as mesmer never really played thief mutch but never had problem with thiefs but after mesmer got nerfed to ground few months ago and there was no light left the good things started happening like they started fixing bugs exsample clones got offhand wepons and clones dont overwright phantasms eny more all the stuff with bouncing attaks so I hope same happens to thief once they dont need to fcous on nerfing thief eny more they gonna fix bugs on it and than start buffing it maibe again? lets just hope

Thief is not bad at all,they just wine because they are noobs.The thing with thief is that u need to be vary good player to play it well,if u are good player then you can be OP but if you suck then u will get owned.Thief is not easy class like warrior,mesmer,necro,guardian and so on…where u just need to have keyboard and mouse to play it well and spam 1,2,3.Thief requires lot of skills to be played well and every mistake is fatal unlike with other classes (except ranger-hes weak if he use bow).Now they will nerf our evasion but still even with that good player gonna be able to beat any1,even multiple targets at once.Problem is that people want to kill fast and easy but assassin class is in every game like this,hardest to play but when u master it it becomes best PVP class for sure.But all these nerfing need to stop,i support perma stealth nerf,and sword nerfs too but evasion nerf is not justice at all,thief is supposed to be most agile class.

I’ll hang in there, but I feel attacked from all angles. It seems like the warrior gets everything (mobility/escapes, crowd control, damage, huge health pool), while the thief has just gotten much of its survivability downgraded. Removing evades and escapes/mobility seems awful to me when that’s patently all that keeps the thief in the fight.

I also support the initiative-on-stealth nerf; that wasn’t how the class was supposed to work. But the sword nerfs and the evades nerfs really blow my mind, because that IS how the class is supposed to work.

Unfortunately thief will not see buffs because in pvp they will always be the best at killing other glass cannons out of nowhere, and there are tons of thieves running around to make sure nobody can play those builds. Now the thieves just spend all day trying to kill each other instead (I’ve even moved away from full glass thief to give me an edge over them).

They only seem weak because they have forced themselves out of the meta by being too efficient at taking out their prey.

I agree with most of what you said but I very much disagree that the only reason thieves look weak is because there are less glass cannons. Thieves look weak because we’ve been nerfed while several key classes have had massive power creep. Thief is a dualist class but it is at a disadvantage while fighting about half the other classes.

I remember someone saying that playing thief is like playing the piano, do one mistake and the song is broken:) Funny cause it’s true! Nothing wrong with that imo, however it would be cool if that also applied for some other classes that atm are very deadly
