I understand not having a permanent stealth in the game but I really dont think thieves have the stealthy feel as they should. Anything even with dagger its more of a lets run tactic rather than looking at it offensively. I know s/p isnt what you call stealthy compared to dagger but your a thief and I think it should but not as nearly as much as D/D should have. I also wish we had some more survivability in general.

The stealth time is abysmal. Try stealth in WvWvW for about 3-5 seconds only to be caught in some AoE snare.. Stealth is not a good mechanic to use for trying to get away either because of it’s short life. Thief all together in WvWvW just seem lack luster compared to the other classes

3~5 seconds is definitely enough time to get away from a battle when the enemy doesn’t know where you’re going. Just use condition removal and the aoe snare isn’t a problem either. It’s not too short considering it can be spammed to an extent.

Thieves are a mobile profession, not a stealth profession. they have stealth but it is not meant to make you stealthy, it is meant to give you mobility and positioning to get an advantage on your opponent…at least that is how it seems to me

Also stealth have a 3-4sec CD b4 u can go cloak again. That’s why you have to dodge after a back stab.

I have gotten away from hundreds of fights using stealth when I am at a disadvantage. I have also gone right back into the fight using stealth and danced on the corpses of those who try to zerg me. You guys really need to stop trying to make this profession something that it isnt made out to be. Permanent stealth will not fit in this game because it is combat oriented fast paced fighting. If you had permanent stealth and a required stealth engagement and always had to open from peoples backs it would be lame. I much rather like the trickyness and slight of hand that this version of stealth allows. And for those who are saying the stealth is not long enough…. get shadow refuge. I have outsmarted my opponent SO MANY TIMES using this stealth alone. The trick is watching your stealth buff timer, once it reaches 5-6 seconds you are able to leave the stealth area and run for your life! combined with shadow arts traits the stealth from this skill lasts a total of around 20 seconds. Thief has insane survivability if you play it right, in pvp you can build an evade/stealth/blinding monster that is VERY hard to lock down

In pve you have so many ways to redirect mobs off of you via stealth, multiple ways to blind.. the only thing that should ever hit you is aoe attacks.. dodge em :p
