How are thieves in pve? I absolutely love the class for pvp and wvw (although being squishier than my other choice, the engineer, I can usually get by fine by trying to not get hit).

I am wondering how thieves are for pve mainly dungeons. I can live with being squishy as long as I am able to survive by other means, but even with my engineer some mobs can 2 shot me if I’m taking any aggro. I hear thieves tend to die alot, but is that just because of the play difficulty of having to dodge attacks more than other classes or is there survivability really just that low.

Also enjoy being useful and wanted for dungeons.

My thief performs very well in pve. We have a wide range of viable builds, and bring a strong mix dps, control and utility to any dungeon group. Shadow Refuge alone will make you an asset to any group – and that’s before you factor in all the mad kiting and damage you can do.

Survivability on a thief is actually quite high – it really depends on your skill level, your experience with dungeons, and your build. Speed, agility and stealth are your allies, and you must use them all to excel. On top of that, there are many traits you can choose that augment your ability to self-heal.
