Three main hand
Two offhand

Right now we ar the class with less weapon sets in the whole game and considering how initiative works i’d say we have even a fewer number of working build compared to let’s say warrior or guardian.

I pretty much trief every build, even trap ambusher (Shadow trap+ambush) and while they work somehow they are not even effective in most of the game situations. I just try to squish my brain to come up with some new fresh thief gameplay but it just doesn’t seem to work any longer as our weapon sets are very straight forward.

My suggestions for new weapons:

-OH Sword
-Rifle (Attached some fanfiction skills for rifle)

Great, another thread begging for sniping skill on Thieves. The closest you’ll ever have will be Warrior, and it won’t go any further. Besides, you’re requesting to add a concentration/focus/stabilized skills on a class that is 100% based about thrill, action, and quick decision.

PS: Engies say hello on the ‘Fewest weapon combinations’ and they’ll gladly shoot you down if you ever mention kits.

tbh I’d rather they introduce 4-5 skills for single wielded weapons (for everyone as well)

Silly how we get an “off-hand light” skill but no ones going to be using off-hand light due to lack of 2 skills and stats

Thief also gets more out of those weapon choices than most other classes would with the #3 changing depending on main/offhand. The weapons themselves are also pretty solid… esp. when compared to how some other classes have it with their weapon skills.

The entire reason off-hand light skills exist is for about the first 5 levels of the game, so the thief isn’t stuck with just 2 skills if they don’t get an off-hand weapon from an early monster drop.

On the larger subject of more weapon sets for the thief, I vehemently disagree. 3 mainhand 2 offhand is 6 different sets, and all of those combinations have distinctive play styles due in no small part to their #3 skill.

Mixing insults with your post is like pooping in a salad.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.

I would rather they go back and tweak the current weapon sets that we have and try to address a glaring deficit to thieves (at least in my view):

Give thieves more options in PvE!

Namely, we kind of suck at mob control, our AoE’s are kind of meh-tastic, to put it politely. I would love to see Anet tweak some skills in S/P or, ideally, P/P, to include some AoE’s (granted there already exists pistol whip for s/p, but having another AoE skill would make that weapon set complete in my opinion).

I absolutely loved playing S/P with offhand P/P when leveling up, but eventually there gets a point (around the level 50ish juncture) where the lack of AoE’s and mob control become too much. Something like turning unload into an AoE rather than a single target dps skill would go a long way!

Shortbow is how thieves get aoe… if you’re trying to get pistols to do aoe you’re just using the wrong tool for the job.

It would still be nice if everyone (not just thieves) could get a 4+5 weapon skill without needing an offhand weapon, would increase the amount of options without actually bringing in more weapon sets.

4 of the 7 land weapon combinations have AoE (shortbow being primary one granted, but D/D has DB and all sword sets have aoe in there sword autoattacks at the very least)

But thieves were designed primarily as a single target burn profession.

Also cluster bombs bleeds are a bit lack luster and is more of an added effect rather than a form of damage. Base duration so short and you need to time the burst to optimize the 3 stacks and such, the initial strike is far more damage, hitting for 3-4k on a condition build if not bursted to widen it, I suspect non condi-thieves are getting much more than that.

And poison cloud really comes down to just reducing a large number of targets healing potential more than anything, not amazing for anyone really but usable.
