In my mind, the purpose of this forum was for Thief players to discuss amongst themselves aspects of playing the Thief class. it was supposed to be a place where Thief players could work on strategy, figure out how to best play the class in PvP and PvE, and in general socialize with other Thief players.

What we have instead is a bulletin board for dissatisfied PvP players to come and air their grievances. This is not really doing anybody any good. This has ruined what should have been a resource for Thief players.

Moderators should have been locking these grievance posts. They have not been. Instead this forum has become a wasteland.

First MMO I assume? Forums are like that, yeah.

not my first MMO by a longshot. and you’re right, this is absolutely typical of MMO forums. i had hoped for better.

The problem is I tend to see exponentially more posts getting deleted by people post in defense of thief, and even posts just showing in detail why the nerf requests are wrong… then the posts whining for a nerf. Happens to mine a lot as well. This would also explain what seems like a lopsided mass of tons of threads filled with posts only complaining with misinformation asking for a nerf

I wish mods would just delete the ridiculous nerf posts. None of them provide any substantial evidence to back up their silly claims. You can smell the BS miles away.

It is pretty ridiculous at this point. Pretty much most of the top tPvP players agree that the Mesmer is the strongest profession 1vs1 and that they are a must in tPvP at the moment.

Yet you don’t see the Mesmer forums choking with ‘nerf mesmer’ posts like you see here in the Thief forums. When people wish to complain about Mesmer “OPness” they do it on the Structured PvP forums, like they are supposed to.

This forum on the other hand has degenerated to a bunch of foaming at mouth “nerf” posts which is quite unwelcoming to people new to the Thief profession who wish to get some help from their peers.

I read this forum nearly daily because i want to see if anyone is posting something for thieves, by thieves. but i am disappointed time and time again. By my guess, there are more of every other class on this forum whining about thieves, than actual thieves. And us thieves are sick and tired of wasting our time speaking reason which falls on deaf ears.

Dear Mods:
Please, I beg you, read all the topics and delete or lock those that are just people whining about thieves, because they are in the wrong section. The thief forum is meant to be a place of thieves, for thieves and by thieves.

Remember only certain devs and mods read certain part of the forum. My take is this forum mod does NOT play a thief.

The moderators are really active tho, I must say. Got my topics blocked and removed because apparently it’s a “provoking topic” if you ask A.Net to atleast put a basic knowledge requirements for whoever that is going to post in a profession’s forums.
