Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows of where I should look for general pvp tips for Thieves. In terms of sPvP, map tips and in terms of general pvp/wvw, how to engage targets, priority classes, anything. It doesn’t have to be all encompassing, I just feel sort of lost because I’m just starting, and every class pwns me off the bat.

Watch any video you can find of Caed playing thief. A number of the videos of him have his commentary on why he does what he does at various points in a match.

You can watch other high ranked thieves as well, and learn from their gameplay, but I found Caed’s explanations to be most succinct when I first picked up the profession. Really there is no substitute for experience with the class though. There is more out of combat skill in thief than most classes due to the high mobility allowing for more strategic maneuvers than most can hope to accomplish (it is just a capability that many classes lack).

Even when he isn’t explaining watching how that guys selects his engagements is one of the best skills to pick up as a thief.

Thanks! I’ll definitely be watching that! I started to watch Yishi’s stuff and they’re really helpful. I jumped into sPvP yesterday and felt SUPER lost, and I didn’t know what I should be doing.

Don’t rely on perma stealth as a crutch. You will become a much better player.
