The traits look pretty inconsistent. What are you aiming for? Power? Steal group buffs?
You seem to be going into non damage trait lines and the traits you pick seem to be only healing and dodging based.

Isn’t this similar to Arganthium’s build? Or almost identical?

S/D is definitely viable in WvW. The set consists of many evades such as shadow return and flanking strike which makes you nearly untouchable. The daze from the stealth attack (tactical strike) is also quite effective. In my opinion this is more of a team based build, mainly for spvp. It doesn’t seem like a heavy hitting build because of the lack of points invested into Critical Strikes which provides consistent DPS. The points in the Trickery line also doesn’t really comply with S/D because the set isn’t based on conditions. I would recommend first using 10/30/30/0/0 , which seems to be the most popular S/D build as it provides heavy damage (Executioner, XI – 30 CS) and suvivability (Shadow’s Rejuvenation, XI – 30 SA). Once you’re comfortable with the rhythm of S/D then you should experiment with different traits.

For utility skills I would recommend replacing Assassin’s Signet with Shadow Refuge for stealth and a quick burst of health if you’re using the trait Shadow’s Rejuvenation (XI – 30 SA). The active on Assassin’s Signet isn’t useful because the passive is basically doing the same thing.

As for weapons, use berserker for more p/p/cd%. Don’t use bloodlust sigil unless you have a spare weapon. After you get your 25 stacks of bloodlust there is no more use for that weapon. Use superior sigil of fire (AoE dmg) or air (single target dmg) on your sword. For the dagger I would use sup. sigil of accuracy for more crit chance % to proc the sword sigil (fire or air) more often which will increase the dmg output. For SB its your choice, although i would not use sup. sigil of leeching but rather superior sigil of fire.

Your armor is okay but you may have to change it up because you have too many cavalier trinkets. You lose so much precision with cavalier so I would recommend mixing it up with knights/berserker. You want to have at least 50% critical chance for consistent DPS.

And for buffs, upgrade your food to Bowl of Truffle Ravioli and your oil to Master Maintenance, but if you’re low on money its fine with what you have.

I don’t see much benefit here from cloak and dagger taking you into stealth. Those benefits mainly come from the shadow arts line. This suggests to me that you’d be better with an offhand pistol with your traits. You really also need your second weapon set to be ranged rather than an alternative melee pairing, then the weapon swap sigil can be removed for something else.

For PvE S/P > S/D. For PvP S/D > S/P
I think the OP is referring to a WvW build. S/P does not fare well in WvW like it used to be 10 months ago before it was nerfed. S/P thieves in WvW are rare nowadays.

Stealthing from CnD allows you to daze your opponent with tactical strike (sword stealth attack) . Not really useful for PvE since there are usually multiple targets but in PvP it is very useful. And of course stealth is used for hiding, especially from an enemy zerg lol.

That’s true but if you are going to use stealth for tactical strike then the shadow arts line is very strong for blind, heals, conditions cures. His build isn’t getting any of that.

If your objective is to kill people, you’re not going to do it. If your objective is to just stay alive and troll them all day, youll be fine.

Something like this would keep your EHP, increase your Ini gain, give you more dodges, and increase your damage.

1974 power
1574 precision (1578 is 36% crit chance, you should really use a single precision infusion, and I will be counting that for my damage comparison, even though this number spit out by the gear calculator is most likely wrong)
73% crit damage
(1974 – 5)* ((1* .64)+ ((1.5+ .73)* .36))= 2840.8732
(1974+ 250- 5)* ((1* .64)+ ((1.5+ .73)* .36))= 3201.5732

2101 power
1919 precision (52% crit chance)
50% crit damage
(2101)* ((1* .48)+ ((1.5+ .5)* .52))= 3193.52
(2101+ 250)* ((1* .48)+ ((1.5+ .5)* .52))= 3573.52

My set is 11.6% more damage with 25 bloodlust stacks,
3573.52/3201.5732= 1.11617625985
12.4% without
3193.52/2840.8732= 1.12413324185
And thats before you count the sigil of force and executioner, which is another 10% damage on top of what you gain from just armor distribution pretty easily, depending on who you are fighting and how much healing they get to do. If they didnt heal at all it would be close to a 14% damage increase on top from just those 2 things. If you actually know to use force when you hit 25 stacks of bloodlust then subtract 4.5%~ from those numbers, and never include bloodlust in your sets when you make them and post them, just assume people know to stack bloodlust, and put in the alternate sigil.

2719 Armor
17825 HP
(17825* 2719)/1836= 26397.6988017
26,398 EHP
(2719- 1836)/2719= 0.32475174696
32.5% DR

2481 Amor
19715 HP
(19715* 2481)/1836= 26641.0212418
26,641 EHP
(2481- 1836)/2481= 0.2599758162
26% DR

My set gains 250~ Effective HP too. (at the cost like 6% Damage Reduction, which is offset by the fact that youre gaining like 20% damage)

Personally, I think this is overkill on EHP, and I would use all Berserker trinkets (and in fact I do when I play this). For food use candied dragon roll not omnomberry pie as its vastly cheaper and the same effect.

i want to be able to stay live and dish alot of dmg.

This is why I changed your traits, Trickery doesnt compare to Critical Strikes for any type of build that wants to do physical damage, its just too weak.
