Any advices for soloing a tower lord with a power d/p thief? I fail miserably. With my engi no problem.

Do you mean ABL/EB or DBL?

Dont matter. My Engi is able to kill Towerlords in ABL and DBL, my Thief not.

Ok, I know only the vanilla Lords.
I soloed towers as P/D condi, S/P power and D/D power. Second set is always SB. I don’t think D/P makes too much sense to solo towers as the blind only helps against trash mobs and you might accidently heartseeker anything while trying to stealth – I never tried D/P.
The most important thing is the boss mechanics – the Lord has got a rifle = smoke screen and my beloved daggerstorm. Black Powder doesn’t work on him. Also have something for when he’s stunning you – shadowstep, I use blinding powder – doesn’t blind him but he might lose target (if he’s not bugged).
The important thing is to know that he’s using projectiles. And that it’s PvE and that stealth is a lot more powerful vs mobs than vs players.

Oh and don’t forget to run around a lot and make the pillars your shields.

all you do is drop black powder and win unless your running full zerker.

Depends on traits a lot. Black powder does nothing to lords since anything with a break bar cannot be blinded.

SA running SE and Rejuv can sustain your HP.
Crit Strikes running IP can be a huge boon to keeping you up.
You’ll need to time your dodges well to avoid the CC the lord deals, too.

Easiest tower lord completion is probably CS/SA/DrD, though CS/SA/Tr works fine given Trickster and Withdraw.

I would go daredevil because of the extra dodge (and heal on evade) or acro as if you’re stunned and he stomps it’s usually over – I think they’re better than SA vs tower lords.
But in the end use the build you’re the most comfortable with. S/P was rather easy (also because of the ports) but I’m too used to D/D. Easiest of course was condi and I guess it still is.

there are more simple ways to hurt and humiliate yourself than trying to solo tower lord with d/p

you can not blind a lord anymore ? i did not know that i have not tried to solo one in a few years now you could run perma eva staff

There’s better suggestions here but for myself if I’m using D/D or Staff I’d probably take acro/tr/dd for Upper Hand, Staff Master goes with it well. I don’t play much D/P but I’d probably try to stick as close to my normal build as possible with Dash and play like I’m going to win a prize.

There is a staff variation I’ve run that can facetank the lords.

Basically it involves taking every on hit, on crit, on initiative use heal ability. A bit of a one trick pony but it can basically heal up to full while cleaving. Staff was what I used but there is no reason a D/P version wouldn’t be moderately successful.
