Trapper and Sneak attack
try to put your trap where the enemy wont stand on them then you have few seconds to sneak attack
like run backward and lay down trap use sneak and then you enemy proc it by standing on it
I think i figured it out – cloak and dagger stop your auto attack, traps don’t. So you have to deselect, trap, then re-select. Real pain.
or just face away from the target or disable auto attack.

A technique I like to do is forcibly sheath my weapons. The “draw weapons” function (I think it’s called that) is not bound by default, but you can set to to a particular key combination. For instance, mine is shift+z. This makes it so that you can make your character draw or sheath their weapons. In general play, there’s not much use to it, but if you forcibly sheath your weapons during combat, it will actually stop your auto-attack from occurring. It’s helpful with stealth abilities since it prevents accidental revealing.
As messiah mentioned, you do also need to be a bit careful about trap placement. Shadow and ambush traps won’t reveal you if the enemy touches them, but needle and tripwire will. Of course, if you drop it right on top of them, it will stealth you after it hits them, but if you stealth before they hit it, then you will get revealed.
I know there’s a bug with ranger traps where they fail to stealth you sometimes, but I don’t know if that occurs with the thief traps. Note that I said “fail to stealth”, not “reveal”, as the stealth buff is never applied in the first place. I haven’t seen it happen to me with thief traps though.

just dont put your AA on auto that you must press a botton to attack so it wont reveal you
