I experienced this as well. I usually travel by doing in arrow>roll (to get swiftness) and shooting another inf arrow when the swiftness wears off.

Now I inf arrow>roll and I get stuck in place rolling. Makes shadowstepping feel clunky and not at all fluid.

infiltrators arrow has always been a struggle filled rubber banding exercise for me. I don’t’ know how other oceanic players go with it but I find all of the thief port skills to be almost useless with our latency. Rolls and leaps are fine, but for some reason the ports cause rubber band issues.

infiltrators arrow has always been a struggle filled rubber banding exercise for me. I don’t’ know how other oceanic players go with it but I find all of the thief port skills to be almost useless with our latency. Rolls and leaps are fine, but for some reason the ports cause rubber band issues.

All the more reason for them to allow/provide Oceanic players a more appropriately located server IMO. Ports are fine when you’re connected with a reasonable ping. (Read: NA connected to NA servers, Europe to Europe, etc.) In this case some core functionality of infiltrator’s arrow has been reworked in a way that makes it awkward even when playing with a generally acceptable ping.

You don’t have an issue with the skill, you have an issue with bad server selection, which is unfortunate but not related to this problem.

I also do roll right after the shadow step. I’m not sure why I do it, but I think it’s to cancel out landing animation so at least it feels faster and invinci frame at landing spot is a cool bonus. I also get swiftness from dodging so it flows really well.

Anyways, can’t do it anymore. This nerf really sucks, the worst part is it’s not even in the patch notes. Infusion of shadow buff initiative increase buff is in the patch notes even though it’s not really a real buff.

I have the same issue.
This one and rubberbanding issues with shadowstep as well.
Nice becouse with this problem i feel myself still slower then permaswiftness classes. Ridiculous.

This actually really sucks lol.

I was running from a warrior in WvW, so I pulled out shortbow #5 into a dodge to gain swiftness. He caught up to me cause I kinda CC’d myself there lol. I think whoever made this change was the programmer who programmed our underwater spear #4 tow-line (aka self cc)

Do you think this is a stealth nerf or just a bug that will be fixed in the future?

I hope it gets fixed or reverted either way. It doesn’t make too much sense to me. Dev claim to want to “increase thief mobility” yet we lose more of it with every patch whether through actual nerfs or stealth nerfs.

I really hope this is a bug, and to be honest it needs an hotfix. But pity this game is not thief friendly.

This is an unfortunate truth. But I gotta play with the hand that I was dealt which puts NA server as the lesser of two evils with regards to latency. Doesn’t help that I play with an international gaming community either, even if they did have regional servers for Oceanic I would still play NA to be with the my guild.

Decided to bump this until it’s fixed. (Help me bump it)

I used similar strategy for another issue in Diablo 3, and it worked out like after a couple of months. (Expanding the number of buffs shown in tooltip)
