Ok so with the new specialization, it’s very possible to make a highly obnoxious thief using trickery, acro, and the new spec. Potentially will have extreme condi removal from the trait and all the buffs to evades plus access to vigor and boonrip could make this new thief a utility master able to overcome literally ANY situation. Give it marauder and let your dodge build finally return in a viable way and have all the fun in the world. Anyone else as excited as I am for this? Looks like anet is taking a great step in the right direction. Thanks for giving us new potential for builds outside of stealth, loving you guys right now!

Thanks for returning potential stealthless builds.
While I’m happy to see this potential returned, it’s a low blow to Nerf Acro and then give us this as a version 2.0
Oh well… I’ll still enjoy it, I bet!

While I agree, I think the nerf to acro was unnecessary, at least they are giving the potential back instead of making us even more reliant on stealth.
Fortunately, acro can synergize well with the elite spec theoretically and make you near immune to inhibiting condis making you literally near uncatchable if you play right. Only time will tell though. Still I do agree a buff to acro would be nice sometime in the future.

Yeah looks fun. Also seems to be quite a few traits in the datamined stuff that were ideas i’ve seen during many of the ‘fix acro’ threads so that’s cool. I honestly don’t mind it being an ‘acro 2.0’ sorta line so long as it means we can have some staying power again. Kind of sad about physical skills though. That’s why thief as very unsatisfying to play in PvE sometimes. A lot of the skills are more suited towards PvP game types. Inturrupts and stuff are fine for a lot of content but it’s annoying adding to defiance destacks (or breaker bar stuff soon to come) and just settling into weapon skill chains. Was really hoping for more from utilities.

kitten , stop kittening over the acro nerf, ofc it was balanced with the new trait line in mind, same was for all other proffasions.

You can now pick BOTH acro and the new traitline they complement each other very nicely. Looking for a new play style? How about evasive tank in PVE? how about frint liner in WVW that can cleave and do aoe damage on dodge? How about a PVT thief that can actualyy CAP base, evading forever 2v1 while not losing base due to blinking and stealth. How about a non stealth thief that realy works? No more mandetory SR t in your utility bar. Best mobility in the game from dash +staff leap, Best evasive by far(3 dodge bar WHAT???) while vigor is bieing nerfed across the board for being to powerful thieves get carzy boost to endurance and dodge mechanics, just awesome.

giving the fact that your most likely playing Spvp i dont see why ur not using acro right now thief in arena is still quite amazing same for pve only place i see a thief fail horrible is in WvW..(yes i know D/P thief is amazing at ganking etc blabalabla and then when they roll with the blob they are absolutely zero just a meatshield with no use to actually be there.)

thats just my opinion though..

none the less ofcourse i love to see this stuff work out as im no fan of perma hiding thief only ramming 1 for backstab and kitten out again.
