Has anyone tried this? How effective is this? I want to try this build out and support thief by giving everyone nearby venoms, and the thought of everyone having my elite ability and enemies turning into stone every few seconds(or if it stacks, lol) is the definition of awesome. Also as a side note: Does the trait that lets venoms last for one extra strike work using basilik?

Yes, Venom share does share Basilisk Venom.

Yes, Basilisk Venom stacks increase duration.

Yes, +1 charge of venom from the Deadly Arts tree does work on Basilisk Venom.

Basically, yes, if you are running venom share for support in a dungeon you had better be running Basilisk Venom except for situational fights.

One more side note, Basilisk Venom is not affected by Defiant stacks on a boss and works on 99% of mobs that I have tested it on. However, the application of Basilisk Venom is slightly bugged and will not always apply properly. For best results, ensure you use a basic attack unmodified by anything else after using Basilisk Venom.

I just did a small amount of testing, and honestly I thought it was great. I used the thief summoning trap along with my teammate mesmer who summon clones and we all got the venom(including the clones). Didn’t seemed as if it stacked though, can anyone else confirm?

Thanks for the help though bytyan, much appreciated :P

Just for the sake of imagination. Theoretically speaking, if I were to do a dungeon with 4X mesmers, ones that really knew how to use clones so that at all times there would be 3X clones for each mesmer making a total of 17(12 clones, 5 players) potential applications of Basilik, with the trait giving an extra strike to each venom effectively turning it into 34 applications of basilik venom. And seeing as they stack and each do 1.5 seconds of stone, would that theoretically mean 51 seconds of stone which by then my basilik would have already recharged? So theoretically, assuming nothing goes wrong and there are no factors effecting it(which there will be, this is just for the sake of imagination) the boss should be infinitely stoned?

It has been my understanding that AoE buffs (like the Venomous Aura sharing) only hit up to x5 targets. Assuming that it correct, you won’t be able to buff all of the temp pets and Mesmer players that you are describing.

We are Test Group F. (Don’t ask about what happened to the previous Test Groups.)

Yes, I’m pretty sure there’s a relatively small cap on the number of people that can be affected by the aura (roughly 5, as was said).
And no, Basilisk Venom does not stack. Not even with the extra application trait as far as I know.

And also the AOE of the apply is small. So even if it did buff the mez illusions, they would have to be on you to get it.

It’s a nice dungeon run build (and one I’m currently running) as you can disable bosses for prolonged periods (1-5 sec-ish)

Share with Basilisk Venom is not that great (as well as Residual Venom). It doesn’t stack so you either need to use teamspeak with them so they stop autoattacking and shoot one after the other EVERY TIME you’re using the venom (and with residual venom each of them would need to wait 1 second before pressing the attack key again), whih honestly, no one is ever going to do that just so you can maximize a build.

Aditionally, you apply it up to 5 times (you can’t apply them on hordes), and you need to be very close to each player (what I call: “the best distance to throw them a flask full of venom without risking it falling to the floor”).

I run a venom share support build and I prefer using Thieves Guild as they make much probable that you use the venom on 5 allied targets and overall are better than BV. The special part of VS builds is that you can heal and grant might to allies aditionally to expading your venoms effects.
