Venom support theif? any good?
I honestly am surprised I don’t see the spec more
I’m currently running it cause zerging on my Ranger is crap, so i’m running full venomaura build with 5 venoms….
The amount of utility it has is rather silly.
Shortbow as well just poison/weakness entire zergs and a blastfinisher that i can just spam the crap out of it.
Its rather silly

I ran venomshare in pve for a bit and found it works something like this.
The worst your party is, the better the spec is and vice versa.
Its amazing sustain and adds a good amount of party heals but the dmg is meh at best. If the party is doing fine then really its just a loss in DPS.
Yeah i would use it in Dungeons/Fractals/WvWvW. Maybe Team Arena.
It seems tanky and supportish.

Its very tanky, i had a mix of dire/settler and shaman’s. But i found when puging that i always ended up with another healer or atleast pseudo healer in the party meaning instead of dishing out DPS i was healing ppl that didnt really need to be healed.
Never the less its a really fun build and if it was more viable i’d definitely run it over the typical serker set. If you can get in a role as a designated healer for your party then its a good build others your basically a waste of a party member.

You can just as easily use them in a DPS build. You actually have more free slots for utilities although you probably wouldnt mind wasting the initiative as much if you were aiming for DPS.

If you want dps you don’t go with shareable venoms and healing. I have a good venom dps build, i use it for PvP* though. If you want venoms with heal and share them with your party, then it would be best to go a tankish/supportish build and not aim for dps.
I’d recommend 0/0/30/10/30 for a tank/support build. Dagger/Pistol and Either Sword/Dagger or Shortbow. This would be a Venom/Steal build.

I’ve actually done something similar to this on my thief, but rather than capitalize on the condi-portion of the build, I’m focusing on the leeching portion by upping direct damage. I’m running 30/10/30 for the extra precision & crit damage, Knights gear and Trinkets with Valkerie jewels throughout (Gets me up to about 14.5k health), and I’m pretty pleased. Throwing out an average of 6 stacks of might to the group isn’t bad, plus my friend and I have learned how to chain stun with Basilisk effectively, which is just great.
I don’t do much damage with the condi’s, but they do enough damage when stacked by 5 people. Heck, they might do more if my allies are running a bit of condition damage. I’ve found it to be tanky for a thief, still do enough damage for me to care about, and overall just fun to play. YMMV, though. Oh, and I use Sword/Dagger. Big no-no in PvE, but it’s our only cleave weapon, and I main a warrior, so I’m somewhat addicted to built-in melee cleave.
