I know that for the Trait called Leeching Venoms, the Healing amount is based on your +Healing and not that stats of anyone that you share your Venom buffs with.

How does things work with sharing the Spider Venom skill? Is the damage dot value of the Poison procs based solely on your +Condition (which would apply to every player)? Or does it use everyone’s own stat since it’s a shared Skill and not a shared Trait?

I tested this with a friend of mine in the Heart of the Mists, and it appears that a shared Spider Venom will use the condition damage of whoever triggered it. So your condition damage as a venom sharing thief has no impact on a shared Spider Venom.

I reallt would like a clarification for this, as my tests showed that thief’s stats are used for at least life steals and condition duration

I jumped into the Heart of the Mists and had a venom share build with two different PvP amulets. One had 0 condition damage, the other had 923. My friend who I was sharing the venoms on had 100 condition damage, so their poison ticks were hitting for 94. When I shared a venom with my 0 condition damage, they said they were still ticking for 94. When I equipped the condition amulet and shared the venom once more, their poison was still only ticking for 94.

I did the same thing with a healing amulet and tested Leeching Venoms awhile ago, and found that the heals were all dependent on my own healing power.

I haven’t tested condition durations, but from my tests with my friend I can see that…

Shared Spider Venom = Dependent on the attacker’s condition damage.
Healing from Leeches = Dependent on the sharing Thief’s healing power.

Spider Venom is the only venom ability that does damage anyway, so it’s not like it’s a very important factor, but it is nice to know. Also I can try and test the condition durations as well, once I can drag a friend of mine away to do so.

Thanks Cherry. I’m about to hit 80th and I’m figuring out my gear balance. Things are slated to have some +Condition on my jewelry slots and Shortbow, but that’s about it. With this confirmation, I’ve now got some peace of mind about just how little I need to dip into +Condition. My fear was that I would end up sharing a nearly worthless Spider Venom, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Another Venomous Aura question concerns the duration. Is this also based on the attacker’s stats and does the +33% duration from Potent Poison get inherited from the thief?

Does someone know if the venoms shared get the condition duration of the sharing’s thief ?

I’m not sure. Based on my obervations with how the game works, I’d say no. Since venoms apparent use the recepient’s +stats for determining damage, I’d assume that they would also use the recepients +Condition Duration stats.
