Venoms and multi-target attacks
1) a few random players within the aoe do, and your charges are expended at the rate of 1*number of players hit. It sucks.

Wait… why is this a bad thing? Seems legit to me…

Spreading your charges over 5 people isn’t nearly as strong as getting them on a single person. Individual venom durations are too weark for you to want to spread them. 1 second chill? 2 sec immo? Woopty doo.

not entirely, while it can be useful in certain situations like crowd control outside a tower. A perfect example of it being a bad situation is a ranger, where your shortbow bounces useless poison stacks to his pet. Or fighting against a door where the door WILL eat stacks of venom. Critters will also do this.

Not really. Devourer is much better on Trick Shot:
Despite it supposedly does, Inmob does not stack, which means you’re not getting 4 seconds, you get 2 seconds plus the time between attacks. You’re getting nearly the same duration on the first 2 targets of a trick shot.
In some cases like Spider + Leeching I think it’s preferable to focus fire on a single target (and for that I have my P/D sneak attack that liberates all charges in one use over the same target), but you’re not losing much when using it as AoE. The leeched damaged and the effects are just spreaded, but this is even better as you get more target Weakened with Lotus Poison trait. If you really want to focus the charges don’t use an AoE weapon, if you’re using one it’s because you want to damage and affect multiple targets at once.
And frankly those are the only 2 venoms worth using IMO. Ice Drake and Skale are simply not worth it (as I said many times they’re hurt but the design decission of making all the X next attack do Y effect lasting 30 seconds active with a 45 seconds cooldown that if changed would allow to balance those 2 much better).

Leeching venoms only happens once per strike, so if your strike hits multiple targets you use multiple applications of venom and get healed once.
OK folks… I think you’ve made some good points. Here are my thoughts. Sure, sharing isn’t always gonna be great or the right choice for a given situation. There have been a number of times I’ve been solo and forgotten to switch off venom share and found myself in trouble.
However, fighting at the front of a zerg and sharing spider and ice drake venoms is a glorious thing, trait might on venom use, which gets shared as well. Front lines just melt.
I would say overall, definitely not a utilitarian as some other builds and obviously situational… but in the right situation it can be devastating.
Leeching venoms only happens once per strike, so if your strike hits multiple targets you use multiple applications of venom and get healed once.
Been using it for a long time, each separate hit counts as a strike for leeching venoms. 100% sure of this (edit: and just in case my mind was tricking me I went to the mists and tested it so I can tell you it works perfectly in AoE attacks healing multiple times).
The once per strike refers to only once even if you’re using 2 venoms at the same time, but each separate hit on an AoE attack wasting multiple charges counts as multiple strikes for leeching.

Venom’s are actually kind of useless atm.

Only Ice Drake and Skale (specially Skale). Devourer and Spider are great, specially on a sharer build.
