Venomshare builds
I forgot to mention I primarily intend to pvp rather than pve
ppl are not dumb, you must ask yourself: what if they dodge or else to avoid your hits?
Well, when i see a Venomshare thief im on full dodge mode as long as hes in his “burst-mode” and then I break him like a KitKat ^^
but maybe its more viable with DD elite spec …?
Skilled Thiefs are dangerous
If your intent is support:
Yes, it’s effective. It gives your group a significant leg up initiating group fights, as you can SR stealth and venom buff them, then pain train the crap out of the other team.
However it makes you supremely ineffective if you get caught without your group, and during venom cooldowns.
It’s a very all or nothing spec. playing venomshare means being able to do almost nothing useful aside from throwing venoms. If you’re willing to sell your solo utility for group support, and spend most of your time out of combat or running from fights venomshare does what it says on the box.

There’s a reason you don’t see this on MetaBattle. It’s fine for WvW and can work really well with the right team synergy, but it’s just too gimicky for sPvP and comes at the cost of what makes thieves amazing in conquest: mobility.
Also, considering that you only have 5 people on your team in sPvP (including you), you’ll only share with at most 2 other people in any realistic scenario, which drastically drains the benefit of speccing to share.
I personally love seeing venom share thieves on the enemy team. As mentioned above, you can just dodge the initial burst and the thief becomes a great focus target after this.
Hi there OP welcome to guild wars 2. If you want to share venoms you can totally do so without fully speccing into venoms or completely selling your utility or mobility. Here’s how:
Only take two venoms. 1. Basilisk venom 2. Devourer or Ice Drake.
This way you have 2 open utility slots, say for shadow refuge and a stun break.
Reasoning behind venom choices: condi thieves are garbage in pvp Its a sad fact but you’re better off accepting that now than dealing with the frustration of trying to make one happen. Maybe this will get changed in the future but for now just stay away from speccing into condi. The venom heal is actually pretty good as far as numbers go but it lacks utility. Withdraw and hide in shadows allow you to disengage and re-position which is vital to the survival of squishy thieves.
For your build I suggest starting with the meta build and swapping the 2 traits and one utility skill.
I hope this helped. Happy thieving.
