Anet, please – Body Shot was weak, but it didn’t single-handedly break P/P. That is and always has been Vital Shot. Because Vital Shot is weaker than it should be, Unload has to take over its role as primary DPS, which means that the utility skills aren’t just competing against each other, they’re competing against your main source of DPS.

In short, Body Shot was bad because it shared a resource with your main DPS source, making your damage tank more than it should when you try to use it. Deceivingly, this has always been a problem caused by Vital Shot, not Body Shot itself. And it isn’t a problem that buffing Body Shot will help in any way.

I am under the impression that, in ANet’s mind, the real problem is that thief has ANY viable ranged weapons. They did just smack short bow’s ranged damage again after all.

I wish Anet would give us explanations behind these changes rather than just giving vague promises and throwing the patch out. I can’t see how the new Body Shot is anything but useless. I at least want to know what they were thinking when they made the change.
