Hi all! just wanna ask wich is the most viable weap combo in Tpvp atm? D/P, D/D, S/x ? Discuss plz and im assuming that sb its a must for every1..
Trying to gather the feedback from decent tpvp players plz… Not monthly achiv or wvw experts

^ I second this, I have never seen a Thief use P/P in tpvp but then again I’m not as experienced as Nilgoow claims to be (although I don’t see your name on the leader boards.)

From my experience most Thieves either go D/D or D/P in tournaments for the highest burst damage possible with backstab, fulfilling the role of roamer and able to down enemies almost instantly.

Personally I use S/D, while others make the claim that the damage is too low (Yet Flanking Strike does slightly less damage than Backstab + a built in evade) I find it much more sturdy and highly underrated for tpvp, I have about 50 tourny wins using it.

I think there is a large misconception about just how much burst damage output the S/D is capable of.

This is likely due to the fact that the large majority of the very few people who actually use S/D, also take a more balanced approach to their build rather than going full GC. A full GC S/D setup can be just as devastating as full GC backstab builds.

5k mug, 2k Flanking strike, 5k flanking stab, 1k Flame burst. 1 boon removed.
Tastes good.

D/P is valiable, you get enought utility, and still got HS, also Shadow shot, will provide enought damage (with steal) to take targed down to 50%, blind is kinda useful as well…

Most thieves i see in tPVP are D/D or D/P with some P/D. Few are P/P or S/x, i see these more in hotjoin.
