Guild Wars 2

I made a short montage style video which shows my playstyle and build.

I run 25/30/0/0/15, full build in description of video

Personally i like to think of my guild as GC with a twist, combining heavy spike damage with utility from skills such as shadowstep, being used both as an offensive and defensive ability in different situations.

Anyway i hope you find the video entertaining, and as always criticism on my build, gameplay and video is always welcome, as i still got a lot to improve on

I don’t get if this is a joke or not. You kill clueless glass cannon players, not even always with full hp, with the most classic and boring D/D thief build. And NONE conutered it by teleporting/breaking stun. Amazing.

Nice video but the music kind of ruined it. Watching things muted isn’t much better.

I thought the video was good. What got me hooked was the quality. How much fps are you running in-game?

Son, highlights of successful openers and spamming 2 equals bad. The editing was also annoying with nothing impressive about it.

Protip: Backstab does twice the ammount of damage if its on the, uhm… you guessed it: BACK

Just to clear up some confusions you might have about playing a thief in sPvP …

Every thief uses Shadow Step. Offensively and defensively.

The build you use has been around since day one.

Making a video of insta-gibbing glass cannon’s in hot join isn’t going to get you a lot of kudos.

Might wanna check your keyboard, you’re number 2 button might be a little stuck.

And I recommend exploring dagger/pistol, there’s more buttons to press.

You’re right! 5 2 and 1 to put blind field down, heartseeker through it and backstab is more buttons than… 5 2 1 on D/D to C&D, backstab and heartseeker. Nice observation skills!

ill be the first to go ahead and say there isnt much skill in this video, i focused more on what i can do with fast paced video editing, and the clips which had the fastest pace were those in which i downed people the fastest

Tbh i expected some hate from the professional hipster yolo aristocrat builds, but when it comes down to it, most thief builds spam in one way or another, whether that be pistol whip, blind field + stealth combo, stealth in general, flanking strike, unload, cluster bomb, death blossom. You name it, it gets spammed.

In the end my build goes on what works, accomplishing the same goal in a longer amount of time =/= more skill just like that. Either way when i go on to make future videos i know what kind of clips to use. Thanks for the feedback guys, most of it made me laugh

What did you expect when you came in here? It says GC D/D thief. There aren’t any new or interesting specs. Watching another thief play is never that interesting, backstab is kittening boring. But depending on how you present it it can be entertaining. That’s why this is a nice video.

The first clip you won, But the other 2 clips I was in(randomly) I won those matches :p,

Note: I wasn’t in my real build, i was in my troll perma evasion build.

I didn’t see anywhere you claimed to show something unique or some mlgproyoloswag skillz. For some people, great editing and well timed music is entertaining.
If i was looking for some competitive awesome gameplay with great depth, i wouldn’t even look at guild wars 2.

I wasn’t bragging but at least I have something to show for, even if i only play like 5 tournaments every 5 days. As he doubted my ability eventhough he doesn’t know me.

Also lol at someone taking GW2 leaderboards seriously. I can reach those by sPvPing 5 hours a day, but why the hell would anyone do that? If you want to do something competitive you play a real pvp game.

well 2 things i have to say about your comment. yes you are right about them being low hp…..most were 14-17k. outside of those…thieves have little chance to kill in spvp. they have to tag team. u menion about them being noobs and not stopping the stomp. if u notice a good thief….well not many know these things but most cast STEAL….CND…BS ….HS HS ….the correct combo is CND …then steal half way thru …then backstab then a few auto attacks then HS. also using SS on a stomp then shadow return right before you finish helps. guess u will ahve to rewatch the vid. or learn it yourself. but atleast you noticed the HP of enemies

You misunderstood my post. I wasn’t talking about stopping being stomped, but about stopping the burst. As a thief I can use shadowstep, infiltrator’s signet, blinding powder, assassin’s signet, withdraw, black powder etc etc to counter the backstab damage. In the video none of them did anything to avoid it, even if they could.

true some people get out some dont. as a thief we have alot of ways to do it. most other classes like necro dont really run those ….maybe 1 and sometiems by the time the thief attacks its already used. id say about half of the BV i use stay on the full 1.5 or 2.25 seconds(dpending if i ahve 2 strikes of it or 1)

A competent D/P player will use all five of its skills in PvP.

Auto attacks are a given

Heartseaker+Black poweder also a given

Shadow shot (think that’s the 3 skills name) is the best anti kiting skill in the game. Also great for in combat mobility. Also does more DPS then heartseaker if above 50% hp.

Head shot is a broken skill in the right hands. Whether interrupting stomps(non stability/mist) or most importantly interrupting heals. Proper use of this skill is what separates a good d/p user from a bad.

D/D really only has 1,2,5. I mean sure you can use the 3 in panic situations when immob in a sad attempt to evade but it rarely works. The 4 skill is garbage post nerf. Does too little dmg, low cripple duration, and costs a lot of init. D/ kitten uperior in pretty much every way.
