I second Quakeman here! I’ve liked all your videos and subscribed. Hopefully you’ll be doing more And I never knew you could shadowstep during a HS animation?! Thief Mechanics are awesome.

All blinks, like shadow steps (steal as well), Blink from mesmers, And even Spectral recall or necrotic transversal on necros to name a couple are insta cast blinks that have no animation. Because of this, they can be used whilst casting another spell or action without cancelling the former action. The most common application of this with this class if to start casting cloak and dagger and then stealing to the target for a long ranger CnD, infiltrators signet is an alternative or even shadow step for certain circumstances. The most satisfying, imo, is when you are about to finish another thief player, and as they teleport away before you finish your stomp, you steal over to them, or shadow step, or Inf. Signet without breaking the stomp casting, letting you get right back on top of them and finishing them off without ever cancelling your stomp. But yes, Heartseeker is no exception, you can blink while doing any action

A question regarding your sigils, I thought flame and lightning on crit sigils don’t work together. Was this changed in a recent patch or something?

The problem is landing all of those skills though. Everyone, regardless of class or build, has at least 2 dodges. Unfortunately I only have 2 cloak and daggers before I cant spam em anymore

Yes, this change came with the ferocity balancing patch. I also changed the fire sigil to a force sigil and forgot to update the build, so tyvm

Yeah I would be open to posting some guides to d/d, I don’t see enough thieves playing d/d tbh and it makes me sad. Just give me some time and I’ll see what I can come up with >:)

I guess I can try those before Strength, they are cheaper, thats a plus

Thanks for the feed back. I’ll start with Runes of the Pack since they are cheaper (10g vs 88g from Strength). With Pack I will also be able to have more power since i will run with Power Potions and not Precision. I’ll most likely try both anyway

But the damage difference is significant?

I think strength hits a bit harder, but not by very much. Higher precision with pack runes + fury help you crit more as well, so keep that in mind when determining your damage output.

Would you ever use Eagle Runes if you had them? I’m currently using them in my own thief’s build but I wanted to know if they’re better than/worse than the Pack runes you’re using in your build.

No I think that pack runes are better than eagle for a few reasons. Pack runes provide much more power than the runes of the eagle, and if you already have a high crit damage then this power will add to your damage more than the ferocity will. Secondly the fury and swiftness uptime(Theoretically 50%) are extremely nice from the pack runes. The swiftness helps to make up for the speed lost by not having traveler runes, and the fury greatly increases your average damage output. The stack of might isn’t wonderful, but it does add to your overall dps. Eagle runes would probably work well in conjunction with a more glassy executioner build though xD

I see. Thank you for the response! I’m considering your build and I’m wondering whether I should get a third set of armor. (Already have berserker and condi.) I’ve always wanted a tanky build that can still kitten the deeps so yours seems to be that build!

Haha its not that tanky, but its survivable enough to get some nice stomps off and have the abillity to recover (: glad I could help out
