[Video] Outnumbered Thief Montage
You take way to long to make decisions. Either do something or dont. And where do you find these players? That warrior was the only one who even did anything and he would only use earthshaker (which you never dodged or avoided at all) and then he would just stop attacking. Both yours and your opponents gameplay didnt feel very smooth

Yeah I was just thinking the exact same thing, for a 1v7 or whatever it was, he sure was taking way too long to make decisions, if the other players had even a little skill it would’ve gone down very differently.
Best thief video 2014 hands down.

Lol what is your problem? Either provide constructive criticism, or say nothing at all. If one player can kill 7 players, no matter how skilled they are, that’s 7 people. Yes. Seven people. If you make one misstep you are dead. Fact is they were outplayed by a single player.
And in my opinion, when you got stealth at your side, you can afford to wait to make decisions. Careful thieves > reckless thieves.
Good job cat cap man, keep it up

Thief is about timing and patience. There is no reason to act any faster than he did. I think he did quite well, to be honest. When it comes down to 1v7, enemy skill level doesn’t even matter. That’s 7 human beings against 1.

I’ve never seen better, 5 stars.

Yeah, your opponents were pretty bad, but there are still a few things you could work on.
-A couple of times, you initiated a CnD after an opponent dodged or moved out of the way. You have enough time to cancel this by stowing your weapon or dodging.
-You use refuge for stomps, but you risk getting knocked out (especially when you used it on that guardian) and wasting a great reset utility. I’d save refuge for reviving allies and resetting the fight. If you want the blind/stealth, you can just CnD off the downed target, and it’ll give you the same effect.
-In the fight where the warrior kept using his hammer to interrupt your stomp of his guardian friend, I noticed you swapped to s/p. You could have easily secured the stomp by using black powder on pistol 5, since it pulses in aoe, and lasts for the duration of the stomp.
@phaeris,
As I see it, you really have no reason to post here. You have provided nothing constructive thus far and at this rate I doubt that will change. If you think someone should change or improve the content in their video, or change an aspect of their gameplay, that’s cool. Criticizing for the sake of criticizing isn’t.
Perhaps your frustrations with the Elementalist are getting to you.

There we go, now we can all hold hands and go about our day with a smile on our faces.
A lot of player say something like carefull thief > careless thief. That doesn’t mean you are being careless if you make instant decisions. And play better by keeping the pressure up whilst still knowing what your boundries are.
Its a fact that his opponents were greatly distracted by:
- The mission, attacking guards + gate. Some completely ignored him.
- Stealth, most of these players had no clue on how to react. And some still didn’t even notice the thief.
- Safety of players around them. This is the greatest reason why outnumbered fights are possible.
The thief still has a lot to learn, but in this video he managed to pick the right opponents to fight. And he took the time to post it here. He wins by getting kudo’s and advice. So I’d say keep it up.

As grown adults do.

Not trying to burst your bubble, but, most of those players were almost as bad as NPC’s.
Cool vid. Don’t mind the 12 year old trolls, they’ll always be here to hate on anything that comes their way.
ehh, not the best thief gameplay ive seen, like Carpboy said, u take a bit long to make decisions, u should always target before u backstab to avoid hitting something else by mistake, u might do better with d/p because u did end up missing a lot of backstabs, but no one reacted… at all
overall, your opponents were tbh, very bad, when u stealthed, they just stood there, when the warrior hit u with his earthshaker and u stealthed, he stopped attacking, same with everyone else.
either they were all pre-occupied with something else (like the guards) or half-afk on gw2… or they’ve never seen a thief before… or they don’t know how stealth works… or its their first time in pvp… or it could be a multitude of other things
regardless, if it were me, id be proud I killed 7 people, even if they were all noobs, haha
