WVW DD outnumbered 2 vs. 9 [Build Included]
Not a bad build, lots of synergy using the decrease in physical cooldowns, and plenty of synergy going full endurance acro/daredevil.
My only negative comment is that you linked a WvW video and a PvP buildset. Obviously, a minor criticism. I’ve run into a few variants of these recently from the JQ/SBI and Maguuma/SBI matchups. Fun to fight, for me at least, because I can kill them fairly easily.
For those interested in counter tactics to this “most optimized build” here are some suggestions. The problem with this build is mobility. If this build takes pressure (from someone who times the evade frames or uses range/kiting tactics preferably) then it can’t really escape too well. I recommend running at least one ranged weapon in WvW anyways, otherwise you will be kited to death at some point.
FYI, this isn’t necessarily the most optimized build, because it can’t take advantage of the other weapons skills besides death blossom, and maybe dancing dagger. The utilities are well utilized, however, so I wouldn’t say it is an unoptimized build. I think a stealth build that uses D/D power is more optimized for the whole set. BUT, I do think that condition builds are marginally more effective given the limitations on a D/D power build.
Just some thoughts, no particular order:
The meta might be different for your matchup, but in mine everything and their mother spams immob at every opportunity, you don’t look too pressured in comparison. I find don’t stop and withdraw necessary for that reason, and I run energy and geomancy sigils on both weapon sets to make up the lost endurance from channeled vigor.
Krait runes are kinda overkill imo, the bleeds you’re applying from death blossom are already long duration and you reapply so often it’s hard to cleanse. Thief condi is more about rapid reapplication of condis than long duration these days I think, and I can already get 20+ stacks of bleed without krait runes so I’d rather have a rune that gives me another condi proc or benefit besides just longer bleeds.
I use plex runes with scorpion wire personally so I have a good burst on top of the bleeds for attrition. Bandits defence is fine but requires more setup, generally, and scorpion wire with trickster, pain response and escapists absolution traited means condi basically can’t kill you. I remember fighting a condi mesmer on this build while totally ignoring a perma stealth trapper thief because he just couldn’t touch me.
I burst using basilisk to cut through a block for the interrupt and plex rune proc, then steal and swap weapons immediately for more confusion and cover condis from geomancy sigils. Weakening strikes gives another cover condi for free, even with 20% crit chance it procs often due to the number of hits you get from lotus and death blossom.
Something I notice is that you don’t make use of shortbow. Energy and geomancy sigils are a big part of my build, and lotus training dodges through choking gas from shortbow does a hell of a lot of damage. It allows me to save ini for D/D and endurance/agility signet for shortbow, making resource management much easier, and gives you substantial chase ability.
Don’t follow me, unless you enjoy being chased by angry men with sticks.
Power Build Condi Build
I might consider Superior Runes of Tormenting. You would get torment on heal, every 20 seconds, so just 4 seconds longer than your heal’s cooldown. It would also enhance the duration of torment from your dodges, which is a shorter duration so it might benefit more from the longer duration as opposed to Krait.
When I use P/D I run Krait because Sneak Attack’s bleed duration is relatively low. If you are using a long duration attack, however, cleanse makes adding to that duration less effective imo.
You obviously know how to play, but you weren’t badly outnumbered in any case. It was more like continuous 2v2 or 2v3.
Your build in other hand looked really interesting and i might try that, since i myself lack evasions and good roaming build.

I hate these fights against random pugs. Go for that player who regularly solo roam and ganks anyone; like warrior 1 vs 3, or daredevil/staff 1 vs 5.

I’m a casual player so I’m not much of a critic. I have a question since I haven’t used it yet, do Instant Reflexes seem to kick in at appropriate moments? That’s a 40 second cool down compared to Pain Responses 16.

D/D evasion condi… really don’t understand why people insist on posting these cheese builds in action and pretending to be awesome players.
I actually run a similar build to this, but I run runes of Adventure, Sigil of energy, and Sigil of stamina. I mean if i’m going to take advantage of endurance, and 3 spam, then i may as well do it right.
Sigil of stamina is mainly for use when in a camp to ensure i never run out of endurance.

Cool build, but I wouldn’t consider it a 2v9 if they just kept streaming in one after another.
Thief spammed dagger 3 , but not a lot of cloak and dagger. However the thief survived throughout the persistent encounter by simply spamming, and not making any sort of use of stealth.
My conclusion;
Revenants need a nerf. They can easily carry a thief only using one key 60% of the time and have them survive.
