I wonder everyday why we only get one stealth attacks, as stealth is a tool for many purposes when it comes to strategy there is only one option you will face.

To press “1” to reveal or to not reveal.

My suggestion would be adding a stealth skill for every weapon skill, this would also elimate the need for another weapon (which Thieves have been wanting since day 1).

This would also open up new play and new opportunity’s for supportive weapon skills rather than selfish damage skills.

Example of new stealth skills for D/D would be:

  1. Backstab
  2. Distrupting Stab – Daze and Blind foe (low damage)
  3. Shadow Prison (Dual weapon stealth skill) – Create a dome for 3 seconds that absorbs projectiles and heals allies within the dome for each projectile absorbed. (minimal healing but can be useful when facing heavy projectile area’s or hardcap the amount of projectiles absorbed).
  4. Entangling Asp – Throw three daggers in a line curing a condition from allies and stealing 1 boon from each enemy hit. (can pointblank use to steal 3 boons from 1 enemy but wouldnt support your teammates with this)
  5. Beguiling Haze – Pull yourself and your foe to eachother (no damage causes 3x stack vuln for 7 seconds)

These are the stealth skills for the dagger in order and all cause Revealed once you activate them or hit a target, and for the lack of original skill names I took the ones from GW1 Assassin skillset.

  1. Auto attack
  2. Heart seeker
  3. Death Blossom
  4. Dancing Dagger
  5. Cloak and Dagger

This would also elimate the chain stealthing caused by Cloak and Dagger as you cannot precast it in stealth anymore. The Thief would have to wait for Stealth to wear off before he can CnD again, also elimating perma stealth by D/P and SB + Smokescreen.

I play a Thief since day one, it’s the only profession I play and I’ve played alot of both PvE and sPvP. I think these would be a great change to the Thief class for both players who enjoy the Thief but want a little more diversity and support out of their class and players who team up or fight against Thieves.

Let me know what you think, it was a wild thought while farming CoF the other day and I think it would work well certainly because of our stale F1 mechanic that needs traiting for it’s uses.

The title confused me that you were pleading for more ways to stealth (which already makes everyone cry, and I personally wouldn’t like either)
But stealth attacks on every attack is something I rly am looking forward to since beta already.

It’ll need some tweaking though ’cause if none of them costs any initiatives, I can see shadow prison being spammed a lot. Also disrupting stab would overrule sword stealth attack #1 unless ofc the skills #2-5 on s/d or s/p are worth taking over backstab.

Don’t see this being implemented any time soon though, it’ll take a lot of tweaking and so.

Thankyou for the feedback, I cannot change the title anymore but it is indeed Stealth Attacks.

All weapons and combinations would have new ‘’Stealth Attacks’’ and the star Daze from sword should overrule the #2 Dagger stealth attack.

You could try to spam Shadow Prison but you would need to gain access to stealth to do that (Either CnD or blow HiS/BP/SR) The dome would also be fairly small and ofcourse causes revealed.

Anyway it’s just a wild thought, and glad to hear that someone else has also been wanting more stealth attacks since release.

Cool Idea, but I don’t see A-Net implementing something like this anytime soon. They are having issues in balancing things like they are now and it’s not a good idea to add new things that will eventually need to be balanced out.

Thief might not be as strong as last year
but they’re a lot stronger
than they will be next year!
