Hi everyone,
I think they should give a more specific type of damage to each kind if weapon so that any combination would be more adherent to players’ style.
for example:
dagger, short bow -> power dmg (dagger for melee, bow for ranged)
pistol, sword -> condition dmg (pistol for ranged, sword for melee)
a d/d weapon set should have 5 power oriented skills, same for SB.
a p/p weapon set should have 5 skills that do condi dmg, and also s/p.
if anyone would like to go hybrid he will just pick up the right combination:
d/p = 3 power – 2 condi
p/d – s/d = 3 condi – 2 power

doing that anyone will be able to choose his own playstyle and have 5 useful skills for each weaponset.

imo there is no place for skills like death blossom, choking gas or unload.

We need better weapon set definition (especially P/P), but I don’t like your recommended way of achieving it. What if I want to play condi D/D? Or zerk P/P? There are better ways to achieve balance than making it so cut and dry.

Now if you want to play a condi d/d you’ll spam 3 3 3 3
I think it’s better to be limited to a certain weapon set then to a single skill.

as someone who mains Condi D/D Thief, I can say that I’d rather not lose access to daggers, seeing how intrinsic to the thematic they are. (also, you’re not giving us an off-hand melee condi weapon, how cruel)

I think a better way would be to have conditions and damage on all skills. as dumb as this might sound, the scaling of power/CD would mean these were relevant for those builds, without being redundant for others.

alternatively, have two sets of skills – 1 power based, 1 condi based, and let players choose.

(as a side note, Condi D/D thief can spam 3s, use the 1 chain (poison, from triats and the chain finisher, stack half-decently) and often use heartseeker simply for the utility (leap))
