Looking for a high damage/crit build for my thief and had a question on weapons.

Would I be better served with d/d using LDB and back stabs or d/p? I didn’t feel that swift shot did much damage up front. Using SB for swap set

Essentially I want to get in, hit single target hard and get out (typical thief :p) should I be considering a different set of weapons

i find d/p much more viable thx to aoe blind, and i dont get in touch to use C/D often enuf, ussualy it ends with me not having a chance to swap out from shortbow, in large scale battles anyways.

I use pistol/pistol and I can down the dumb thieves/engineers/rangers with no problem in WvW. Most of the time with pistol/pistol tho I have to chase … and get people that log out.

D/D is the way to go for the standard backstab opener because dagger mainhand offers backstab while dagger offhand offers C&D to get into stealth on demand in melee range. You won’t be using LDB much in a heavy power/crit setup though, unless you really need the AE/evade.

A little OT but why are the BOH gear so bad? Invaders dagger costs around 300 badges and is alot worse than 2g crafted daggers. I could look pasted bad stats but they are really ugly models too :/

They’re in the same stat tier, edamber, WvW exotics are only “alot worse”(sic) than TP-bought crafted exotics because of the way you value stats, not because of some intrinsic difference.

Those who find the WvW stat combination valuable are actually quite frustrated that it isn’t available on the TP, and I’ve heard many people say they’d be willing to pay >10g a piece to just buy the stuff instead of having to farm badges.
