What is shared by Venom Share?
What Venom related trait / effects are shared by Venomous Aura (SA XII)?
Conidtion Damage
&
Conidtion Duration
of the Thief character are not shared, correct? How about traits like:
Potent Poison (Increases poison duration by 33%)
Lotus Poison (Weaken targets for 3 seconds whenever you poison them)
Venomous Strength (When applied, venoms grant 2 stacks of might for 20 seconds)
Residual Venom (Applied venoms last one extra strike)
Leeching Venoms (Steal health when triggering a venom. This can only occur once per strike)Are these effects applied to allies?
And when a thief share Spider Venom with another player (e.g. an Ele) who land an AoE which hit 5 targets, that Ele used up all 5 Spider Venom strikes, correct?
If Leeching Venoms works on the Ele too, will he get the 5 heals in 1 AoE?Edit for extra question:
If a thief share venom with another player dealing the same condition, say to share Ice Drake Venom to an Ele who use Freezing Gust, will the Chill stack?Basilisk Venom and other stun don’t stack, correct?
Thanks.
I’ve been running a venom share build, but I’m not sure about some of them either. I’d check the wiki for more info.

I know those get shared. The others, not sure about…my guess is not.
regarding aoe – you can test this yourself – shortbow will use up all your venom in one or two shots due to the aoe. Each victim is one venom charge, until you’re out.
chill stacks duration, as does immobilize. The stone, I don’t know if it stacks, but either way it is great. having multiple people using it will give a really nice opener to a small group fight.
Condition Damage / Duration – Not shared.
PP – Not shared.
LP – Not shared.
VS – Shared.
RS – Shared.
LV – Shared.
(Venomous Aura shares the traits that have Venom in their name. VS doesn’t share anything that effects Poison specifically.)
Yes, multi-target AoE effects will use up multiple Venom procs. This is why a Thief’s Shortbow auto attack will quickly burn through any venom buffs that you’re currently affected by.
On the multi-hit LV procs, I’m not completely sure. On my own Venomous Aura character, it feels like I’m getting all of the heal / damage procs. However I do remember ArenaNet previously saying that they were adding a 1 second internal cool down on the LV procs. So while I think that you should get all of the procs, I’m not 100% sure.
(On a side note, a shared Spider’s Venom uses the recipient’s +Condition damage stats. This can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on each player’s build.)
Yes, you can stack multiple copies of the same condition from different sources. Chilling Venom and some other ability that causes Chill would stack together for duration (as per standard Chill duration rules).
Basilisk Venom doesn’t stack with itself and it doesn’t stack with Stun effects since it technically isn’t a Stun. Yes, it can be removed in WvW / PvP with a stun removal effect, but Basilisk doesn’t officially count as a stun. Therefore anything that would increase your stun duration would not affect BV. Nor would it stack with other stun effects since they are different categories of conditions. (Both would just count down their durations at the same time.)

Nothing is shared because the radius of the skill is beyond kitten poor, ever taking that trait is just downright dumb. The only situation I can conceive were it would be viable is if GW2 had PvE content that was hard and required tactics beyond using your heal if you get low hp and rolling your face on the keyboard so you do some damage here and there to bosses. Venoms suck ontop of all that anyways, and since PvE is so easy the only thing that matters is how fast can you run it, overall group dps would benefit more from you going a zerker build to do the most dmg possible. The only reason to not go full zerker in PvE is because you’re bad and cant survive and need the extra cushion.

It’s 100% true
been playing with venom share in wvw, and it’s different, but I like it. the venoms are great cc, and adding it to your group is useful. not sure if it’s as useful as bursting down an opponent though.
Don’t listen to the haters. Venom sharing can be incredibly powerful in Wv3, but you absolutely have to be able to get the shares off. I’ve seen front lines melt down sharing venoms.
That said, it can be very situational. Sometimes I’ll run it if I know I’m going to be with a good group and we’ll mow down enemies, it’s almost funny. Other times you’re stuck with a 30 point trait that doesn’t do much for you.
Try it and see if you like it.
I’ve seen front lines melt down sharing venoms.
I would need to see it to believe.
But no way you are going to convince me that giving 5 people close to you the ability to put some poison/weakness/chill on a few targets is going to melt a zerg down.
Can it help, sure. But I think the statement is way out of proportion here.

Not melting a zerg, that’s for sure, but in small group fights if you have leeching venoms, a Spider Venom will strike for around 2.5 armor ignoring damage from the leeching (even if it doesn’t heal because you are at max HP, it still does the extra leeching damage). Once shared, on a focus fire that’s around 15k extra armor ignoring damage (your own aplication and 5 allies) so technically you could bring enough armor ignoring damage to down a player just pressing Spider Venom. But yeah, that statement he made about zergs melting is mostly an exageration.
I enjoy the venom share trait for small group play. I distinctly remember a 2v2 I had in spvp,, s/d thief (me before the huge buff) a friendly warrior vs a warr and guardian. we had constant poison and alot of annoying immobilises and basilisk venom procs. I was my own cleric build and we won with nearly full hp regardless of how poor my friendly warrior was and my terrible damage from 0% crit chance. was fun.
not that this is a reason why its viable but it kind of shows the effectiveness in small fights.
I didn’t say zergs melt… I said the front lines melt down…
