I’m jumping back into this game after a few months hiatus, and started a thief last night.

What’s the best way to level this profession? I am looking at having the most fun doing it…not necessarily the fastest.

Anyone have an especially fun build/play style they think would be fun?

I’m only lvl 6 right now, so what should I do from here?

S/P is pretty fun and very high powered. I liked the sword when I leveled due to the ability to hit more than one target at a time. Since you’re only level 6 I wouldn’t worry too much about traits, just plop em in deadly arts for a while till you get to a higher level. As far as gear, just go with whatever is best that you run across while leveling. I’d keep an eye out for gear with Power/Precision/Crit Damage (also called berserker gear) while your leveling though. It will increase your damage, crit chance, and crit damage.

Also, stick to the map and aim for 100% completion before you move to the next map. If you do the 1-15 area real fast and find that the 15+ area is too hard, you can do other class starting areas. So you could do all the 1-15 starting areas without sacrificing any xp gain.

Alternatively, if you have an 80 warrior or Mesmer, farm CoF part 1 a couple of times and use the cash to craft some levels, i was level 68 on my thief before i even finished the starting area for my race.

Wow! I have a 73 elementalist that I completely forgot how to play…maybe I’ll give this a try once it’s 80

I leveled my warrior just off crafting, it is a great way if you can spare the gold for the mats. It took about 15 hours total. I’m sure prices are much more now than when I did it but It took me about 50g to go from 1-80 a few months ago. The only downfall is you miss out on all the waypoints. So you’ll have to spend time gathering waypoints when your finished.
