Guild Wars 2

Just wanted to know if my fellow thieves are using something similar.

My current bind:

Forward: E
Turn Left: S
Turn Right: F
Back: D
Action: G
F1: Shift
Skill 1: A
Skill 2: Q(Heartseeker for the QQ)
Skill 3: W
Skill 4: V
Skill 5: R
Skill 6: NumPad 0 (So I can mash my numberPad with my fist and heal XD)
Guild Panel: Left Alt
Stun Break: C

As some of you may notice I have all my skills placed close to my movement keys mostly so I don’t have to stretch my fingers( I have small hands XD).
Thats it so far. Hopefully this my might help someone or someone elses post will help me.

I have caps lock as my heal, e for cloak and dagger,1,2,3 and f as where you throw the dagger can’t remember off the top of my head.

Caps lock is great for heal IMO its easy to reach and a nice sized key.

Edit: And I have Z for steal.

Shhh! ESDF is the trade secret of good gamers!

You need a 7+ button mouse, so you can use thumb keys. Put your Heal on Z or somewhere closer than numpad. The Number 3 is viable to use for Skill 3, as well, it’s right there, and with Death Blossom it’s not like you’re moving for that second.

Didn’t think about using Shift… normally Sprint/Crouch in other games. But really I haven’t finalized my keybinds.

Seriously though delete this thread. ESDF is for pros. When someone says they use WASD you know they’re a noob.

You guys have some nice setups. I going to have to get a gaming mouse in the future and bind something to CAP LOCKS.

I use the razer naga, so my main abilities 1-5 are bound to the regular number keys.

The rest of my set-up is as follow:

W- forward
A- strafe left
D- strafe right
S-backpeddle

Unbound turning, because it’s much more fluid and better to turn with the mouse. (high sensitivity)

Healing 6
Utility 1: Q
Utility 2: E
Utility 3: Shift+Q
Elite: Shift +E
Steal: Shift+1
Wep swap: Shift+2

W – forward
A – strafe left
S – backward
D – strafe right

R – healing skill
V – elite skill
Z- utility 1
X – utility 2
C – utility 3
Q – Steal
E – get previous target (SO useful for when i accidentally drop my target with a misclick)
~ – Weapon Swap (default binding)
Tab – get nearest target (default binding)

unbound dodge button, i always use double tap movement to dodge.
unbound keyboard turning, only use mouse for that.

left ctrl is bound as my Ventrilo push to talk key so I unbound GW2 defaults from it (i think it highlights harvestable nodes or something).

Still tinkering with particulars, but pretty happy with my binds so far:

-WASD for movement, FPS style (A and D strafe, not turn)
-QERCX for Weapon Skills 1-5, Healing Skill on Z
-123 for Utility Skills, 4 for Elite
-Shift+1-4 for Class Skills. For Thief, that’s just Shift+1 for Steal
-Untouched defaults: F for Interact, ~ for Weapon Swap, perhaps others

Very tight, meaning I don’t really need to move my fingers much. Much easier for me. Especially the weapon swap key.

this idea occurred to me halfway into the stress tests after looking at taugrim’s setups and thinking it was a bit too much of a change over my old system of handling 12-16 abilities (1-6, q-y, f1-f8)

Works perfectly, no need for needlessly complicated bindings.

• WASD for movement
• 1234Q for skills #1 through #5
• E for heal
• R, T, shift+T for utilities
• shift+E for elite
• G for weapon swap
• Side Mouse Button (SMB) 1 for dodge
• SMB 2 for autorun
• shift + SMB1 for turn 180
• shift + SMB2 for camera flip
• Middle click for Vent PTT.

I like to make sure I can stay on WASD regardless of what else I need to do.

WASD Standard. Haven’t switched it to ESDF as I don’t need that many buttons with this game. And I like to use shift which is easier with WASD. Otherwise it’s a gimme to ESDF

Been using this variation of keys for many years. For games like WoW with lots of skills/keybinds I moved WASD To ESDF and just shift those keybinds listed above over a key.

Coming over from City of Heroes with their different trays of powers, I can’t get used to reaching for the 5 through 0 keys across the top. So I kind of borrowed the format and I have

Skills 1 though 5 = #1 though 5
Heal, Utility, Elite = Alt+1 through Alt+5

And then other then binding dodge to a thumb button the mouse, I haven’t made many other adjustments. Although I really need to find a new key for Steal if I ever plan on trying to use it regularly. Z seemed tempting, but I haven’t decided yet.

I’m basically used to the olde WASD but I’ve bounded F1 to my lower thumb mouse button and the upper mouse button as target object

X,C,V are also F-key alternates. It works for my hands on this keyboard.

I keep my bindings simple, across all professions.

Standard 1 through 0 for the normal skills, Shift+1 through Shift+4 for the F keys, Shift+5 for weapon swap.
I bound dodge to mouse button 4, which is at the top left corner of my mouse right by my index finger.
I also bound weapon swap to a secondary mouse button 5, which is just below mouse button 4.

I guess I should mention that I use the original Razer Naga.

I use the Razer Naga and love it, my only key bindings I use differently for thief is weapon swap and steal go on C+V because I use QWES for movement while right clicking the mouse and C+V is where my thumb comfortably sits while maneuvering.

I use Logitech G500 mouse. I have DPI set (4000 in my case)

standard WASD (to many games I gave played cannot change this so after 20 years of gaming it’s now hard to train to do differently)

Start with mouse…. imaginary right hand (as main weapon is always right and so is my mouse)….. here are key assignments and use.
