What video editing programs do you use?
Tons of ‘em out there, for all skill levels and price ranges. These are just a few of the ones I’ve tried out (note: these editors are for Windows. If on a Mac, just use iMovie or Final Cut instead):
Free:
Windows Movie Maker – It’s basic, quick, and tends to crash a lot.
Lightworks (http://www.lwks.com) – Open source, very powerful, but HUGE learning curve.
Commercial (these all have demos/trial versions):
VideoPad (http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/) – Simple to use, but not all that powerful for its price.
Pinnacle Studio 16 (http://www.pinnaclesys.com) – I really, really liked working on this editor. It’s inexpensive for what it’s capable of and pretty quick. This would probably be my 2nd choice.
Sony Vegas Pro (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro) – Powerful, but kind of clunky to work on. I’m sure once you get used to it, it’s awesome, but I spent more time looking for things in the interface than actually editing.
Adobe Premiere Pro (http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere.html) – My favorite. It’s intuitive, fast, and powerful. Even though I’m still learning it, editing feels natural on it.
Here’s a link with several other free editors that I haven’t tried:
