Q:

What will u play if d/p shawdows will be unviable after HoT? We know for sure that after hot hits shawdow trait line and refuge will be garbage due to easy reveal by revenant or gyro plumber.

What is oyur gameplan for the future? Any ideas, theorycrafts?

Personally i ll try daredevil s/d, then revenant for sure.

I didn’t jump on the meta(only choice) train for thief in PvP I made my switch for that already. “He who knows his name” will find a way to make staff meta but yes s/d suits DD more better nerf. SA is garbage for anything that is not d/p anyway, for WvW anything works and noobs take longer to l2p there.

This is my problem with the meta hype… people should play what they enjoy and be so great at it, it leaves people questioning their “meta.”

D/P is not viable, i will either go S/D SB with Daredevil traits or D/D – Staff. I see a big potential in these two. S/P got me very disappointed but i still hope it will work out by release.

But for real, anything meta compels people into categories, lowering the overall fun you get. just my opinion i guess..

I honestly do not care about the reveals. There’s no good reason for an engineer to take them – they shouldn’t have any problem with thieves by default and would be better off shoring up other match-ups.

The revenant fight I’m probably too blithe about since I haven’t fought anyone that knows what they are doing yet, but fighting revenants has felt like fighting berserker warriors – they are immobile with big burst if you screw up, but you have Shadow Shot and Head Shot to avoid those. You don’t use stealth heavily against a warrior, and I suspect it’s not big against a revenant either, you would be better off using initiative on CC.

But really, this is all besides the point. You run a thief because you have the best mobility between points to outrun both of those classes to a decap; you aren’t running a thief for its dueling power. Nothing about reveal changes that.
