I PvP a lot, and as a thief, I am open season for the insult whispers. I dont report them unless they are crazy, as I do enjoy the misery. Now thief brothers and sisters, we all know the problem children they speak off.

s/d: Evade spamming noob.
s/p: Pistol is for noobs
d/d: Heartseeker/backstab noob
d/p: see above but with more self righteous hatred
p/p: unload noob
shortbow: Oddly enough no one complains about what I consider the greatest weapon in the entire game. Its beautiful, it has so much to offer us.

Anyway, with all that info in mind, I decided I should give in to the complaints and not use those weapons. This left me with little else to do other than use the one other tool.

(this video has no skill, in fact I would happily see skyhammer deleted from the game. Not removed from soloQ, not changed. Deleted. Its truly awful, but it can be funny and a good way to drive up those late 2012 hate mongering rampages we thieves use to enjoy)

Erm, I dont think you understood what was written. I wasnt saying those things about those weapons, i was stating what most non-thieves say about those weapons.

Personally i think thieves are weak right now and could use some love.

i don’t think they’re weak at all (i think my rangers are weak despite my best efforts). What needs to stop is all the constant-stealthing thieves. they’re cowardly annoying mosquitos

I’ve played thief since headstart, and recently after switching to (power) engineer I understood how limited and faceroll this class is. I used to see many hate whispers addressed to me, but I couldn’t fully understand them till now.

A class which main design theme should be “high risk- high reward” is anything but it, I can always break stun and teleport away, or stealth. It is too forgiving, and pretty much every setup is easy and straightforward to play compared to engineer or elementalist.

I hope stealth and evades will be redesigned, so it takes some actual skill to effectively use them.

Thief is high risk, little reward. If you want to go bursty you will be ruined in seconds if your not smart about it. There is no tanky thief build in pvp, nor would it really make sense to have one.

If you are comparing them to the power stacking 6/6/x/x/x builds who get one big backstab and mug off, then proceed to lay on the floor for the rest of the fight, then they are skill less and pointless.

I seriously think you have not played much thief in PVP.

The only class I would say is in a worse place PVP wise is ele. Mesmer is about on par with a thief, kitten really if you want to win. Sure a spammer will win the odd 1v1, but in terms of game winning power they are on par with each other. Thief being more mobile maybe pushes past it, but not by much.

WvWvW isnt pvp so I have no balance opinion on that.

Yeah but its so much more than that. Any old scrub can use it, but it takes a special kind of player, a real low life, to start getting creative with it.

Sure stealthing up and breaking the glass is doable, but its old hat.

My new sport is wiring THEM onto the glass, then spam #2 on the pistol so they have to stand there until it breaks. Its more psychological warfare.
