Hey guys,

I´m about to craft/buy my ascended gear for WvW but I´m not 100% sure what to get.
But I got 2 builds in my mind. So which one would you prefer more for solo roaming and little groups

The overallstats with Rune of Strength look much better than the traveler ones, so are the 25% movementspeed worth? I couldn´t test it myself. And what about runes of scholar or pack?

That my maingear will be Valkyrie is pretty decided, but I´m not sure about the accessories. I thinking about to get 1-2 kavalier-accesseories, but which one to replace?

Thanks

I replaced my rings with cavalier ones, since rings are the easiest to obtain.
I also replaced my valkyrie pants with cavalier pants.
As some people stated, more toughness makes your heals more valuable.
And I run runes of the pack because I’m cheap.
About the builds they are prolly not set in stone, but the 1st is prolly better for solo roaming while the 2nd is better for small groups. But in a small group you might have easy acces to swiftness making the 6th rune bonus obsolete.

I tried runes of the pack and Rune of strength and found I just preferred pack more. I can still get strength by other means. It does not last as long but it plenty for the purposes of my build.

The reason I like pack is that combination of precision AND power. I am not giving up power for that precision yet am able to push precision up by about 6 percent.

The swiftness/fury/might bonus is welcome and I can trait for almost perma swiftness in game taking assassins retreat which can build minutes of swiftness at a time.

This then allows me to drop signet of shadows and is in fact superior to the speed bonus of travelers runes. Since you can now change traits “on the fly” you can choose assassins retreat as needed .

More bang for the buck as far as I am concerned given I also like use a high crit rate build wherein that fury from the 4th bonus coupled with traits for the same from trickery and Crit strikes all but assures near 100 percent fury uptime.

As i refine the build I might well go back to the Strength runes .

Rune of pack sounds great but how do I gain swiftness? Just the passive of the rune and Thrill of crime?
I can´t really change my traits since I need the 6 in SA (yup, I´m not that good :)) and love the 6 in CS

If you do not take any traits in the vitality to line so as to get assassins retreat you have these as other choices.

>1 Sigil of speed. Put this on one weapon set and on any kill you will gain 26 seconds of swiftness with each kill. You can kill 4 wolves as example and stack 104 seconds in short order.

If using the sigil keep in mind you do not have to use it all the time. What you can do is switch to it at the killing blow and garner the benefit.

2>Consumables. There are foods that will give you swiftness on a kill.

The bowl of seaweed salad is often overlooked. It not only has a 60 percent chance of swiftness on a kill (albeit it only 10 seconds so will be 13 with pack runes) it adds 10 percent damage while you are moving.

What I would do in WvW when I wanted to use swiftness and had no other access to it was use a sigil of speed and rack up some npc kills for fast cross map movement.

It adds up quickly and at you can get minutes of at a time of it and if you able to pump out a lot of damage you can stack it quickly.

I would flip a camp and easily have plenty of swiftness left over by time I got to the next one.
