Q:
Which one? Berseker/Knight?
I went Knight myself as WvW without some form of defense seems suicidal, even with the escapes built into the Thief class.
I went berserker, because without the burst damage you picked the wrong class. Knights dont protect against condition damage either.
The choice should be between Invader’s and Berserker’s for a sword build, not Berserker’s and Knight’s. You don’t have the health pool to support more than a handful of Knight’s pieces without other gear giving you vitality.
Take a look at the temple karma vendors in Orr for easy to get Invader pieces; otherwise stick to Berserker’s/Ruby items to balance with maybe a splash of Knight’s depending on how you’re feeling.
Knight’s is good to use for a few pieces. I can really tell when another thief is glass cannon – they have so little health and toughness they drop faster than an afk elementalist.
My thief is precision based but still has a good amount of toughness. While not a glass cannon at all it still is very deadly.
Thief main plus a few alts – Sanctum of Rall
I use both on and off to switch it up.
I may be squishier in Zerkers, but I can seriously dish out some pain, and I find the skillcap in Zerkers to be higher, because it’s less forgiving.
Toughness works well, i just take quite a huge loss in DPS, it doesn’t really feel right to me, considering the very definition of Thief is burst, and not tank.
