Is there some reason why I keep running into thieves running golemancer runes?

I’m pretty sure its just players getting the CoE medium armor that “looks cool” on their thieves, and then they never change the runes.

If i get another thief running 6/6 golemancer I am going to instantly kick.

AT LEAST put a ruby orb in for one of the slots and make it 5/6….

Summoning a golem whose sole purpose is punching mobs all over the place is not something I want on my team…. ever.

Don’t take it so seriously. I’ve got those runes on my ranger and I originally intended to replace them until I realized they was a lot of fun. If you’re going into fractal 50 then sure, expect better, but if you’re just running through daily content you might as well let it slide. Those are power/precision runes after all.

(I very rarely take that ranger into dungeons but when I did it wasn’t a game changer).

Because people are lazy and cheap. They get their armor with dungeon tokens and that’s enough for them. Scholar is not even expensive, so it’s idd rly annoying…

You should immediately kick any Thief from your party running these runes

At least they have some runes :P

cause ACTUALLY good runes are expensive as kitten so people take what they can get. In my case i just happened to have a friend who crafts and is willing to make me stuff for cheap.

How is 27g for 6 scholar runes expensive? If you farm enough CoE tokens for a full armor set, you have the gold for scholar runes too.

Besides the whirl attack wich knocks back, the golem actually does some decent damage with its punch attacks and has a lot of health. It’s a usefull rune when trying to solo stuff cause it can act as a tank/diversion.
Golem can be a pain in some content where people stack though.

I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a party specifically stacked to just CC everything.
But it is awesome

Once guy with golemancer runes is kind of annoying.

However six guys with golemancer runes. It’s hilariously awesome.

I guess you can venomshare with the Golem. That build with ambush/thieves guild with traps on a low cooldown so as to build a “Minion thief” using venoms might be ok for a hoot.

I used to see a lot of Rangers use this rune and not so many thives.

I used to run Golemancer on Mesmer in WvW for roaming on some build or another. It was great getting that extra CC in, hilariously funny, and a great opener for additional bursts XD

Often if I went down the Golemancer would stall stomps (with knockdowns) so I could get ressed.

Also for camps, Gollemancer would draw NPC agro, small bonus but something.
